With the Elden Ring official PlayStation 4 release incoming on February 25, 2022 here's a recap on FromSoftware's action role-playing game (RPG) published by Bandai Namco Entertainment summarizing various progress updates in the PS4 Scene thus far on the demo including backport fixes and some Elden Ring: Network Test patches alongside a few unanswered questions below. :)

Those that signed up for the Elden Ring Network Test who were selected before it closed could try out the Elden Ring Beta demo on their Closed Network Test Servers spanning 5 sessions:
  • Session 1 - November 12th (Fri) from 3:00am to 6:00am PT
  • Session 2 - November 12th (Fri) from 7:00pm to 10:00pm PT
  • Session 3 - November 13th (Sat) from 11:00am to 2:00pm PT
  • Session 4 - November 14th (Sun) from 3:00am to 6:00am PT
  • Session 5 - November 14th (Sun) from 7:00pm to 10:00pm PT
Since closing, the CUSA18880 base package was dumped by @InfallibleDayst, shared via @Whitehawkx and backported by @CyB1K who also sends thanks to KreedM for some related information.

Around this time (a few weeks before Christmas 2021) an anonymous user on 4Chan (since removed) leaked the following offsets: :ninja:

Code:
0x015724B1 : Original : 0F 85 EE 00 00 00 | Patch : E9 EF 00 00 00 90
0x015724A0 : Original : 0F 84 A3 00 00 00 | Patch : 90 90 90 90 90 90
0x015725AC : Original : 0F 84 02 01 00 00 | Patch : 90 90 90 90 90 90

The initial result was an Elden Ring Network Stress Test v1.00 Online Patched PKG available to Verified Members in the private area with the Base (EP0700-CUSA18880_00-ELDENRINGNT00000-A0100-V0100-CyB1K.pkg) being 5.83 GB in size, some bug reports from @oneman123 on Twitter and the 5.05 / 6.72 / 7.02 / 7.55 Backport Fix (EP0700-CUSA18880_00-ELDENRINGNT00000-A0101-V0100-CyB1K.pkg) weighing in at 87.94 MB.

Then the Elden Ring Network Test unblock no recording games, sequences? unanswered question appears to have resolved itself...

A few days later an updated backport patch (EP0700-CUSA18880_00-ELDENRINGNT00000-A0101-V0100-CASTLE.pkg) of 88.06 MB in size surfaced featuring the following changes:
  • Fog boundary removed by Pav
  • In-game video recording restored
  • In-game screenshots restored
  • Castle barrier removed
For those busy debugging with PS4 Debuggers / Memory Editing Tools, @JackFlap shared his Elden Ring Health findings in PS4Cheater and a cut down elden ring xyz.cht table. šŸ§

Before long game modding extraordinaire @illusion0001 (Illusion's Blog) took interest too, resulting in the following Elden Ring: Network Test Patches via his Patches Page on Github to quote:

From there, patched EBOOT.BIN files allowing users to Bypass the Elden Ring Network Check by @Whitehawkx were incorporated into updated PS4 FPKGs with a recent release based on @illusion0001's work being EP0700-CUSA18880_00-ELDENRINGNT00000-A0101-V0100-1080P-CASTLE.pkg (also at 88.06 MB in size) shared via @Whitehawkx for those with a Jailbroken PS4 Console in the PlayStation 4 Scene to enjoy... noting the following stipulation:

This version has everything listed above + 1080p resolution for PS4 Pro. This is useful because the framerate is unlocked on the Pro, so you're going to get between 50-60fps. This is useless if you are on base PS4 because you're capped at 30fps.

Along the way, several Elden Ring Demo PS4 Mods surfaced from modders including 1dropoff who posted videos of Carl 'CJ' Johnson from GTA San Andreas playable in the Elden Ring demo on YouTube that were consequently removed due to overzealous T2-Style legal claims... however, some are still available HERE and HERE via @hyndrid on Twitter for letting us know.

 Another unanswered question comes from @icycool who asked how Marcus Xatter on YouTube Restored Stormveil Castle Enemies... in the description he only states "No instructions will be given. Played on Base PS4." o_O

Perhaps he utilized some type of debug menu magic similar to techniques demonstrated by modders including @manfightdragon and @Xeeynamo in the past... speaking of which, below are several related Tweets from them (among others) sorted by date with the oldest first:

Spoiler: Related Tweets

 For those who missed the Horizon Forbidden West news update, StretchEcho on Twitter (Related Tweets) recently reported the PS4 game save from a PlayStation 5 console can be copied to a Jailbroken PS4 9.00 system and decrypted using Apollo Save Tool for PS4... while manfightdragon on Twitter confirmed that Elden Ring on PS4 requires 9.03 Firmware to start from the disc.

That said, only time will tell what the future holds for those in the PS4Scene... at the moment be sure to check out the Elden Ring Overview & Elden Ring Rise, Tarnished: Official Launch Trailers if you haven't done so already. ;)
