GenGP4 (Replaces PKG Kitchen) by XVortex, PS4 FTP via Webpage

Today PlayStation 4 developer @XVortex kicked us out of the kitchen by announcing that his PKG Kitchen is no longer needed, and introduced his latest GP4 Generator all-in-one utility called GenGP4 which combined with the FTP server is everything you need to dump PlayStation 4 games including a more reliable tree-decrypting method alongside shorter instructions below!

To quote: "No more .pkg extraction, .pfs extraction, file merging etc. FTP server dumps the game to HDD folder, then gp4gen sanitizes this folder and generates the .gp4."

To quote from @XVortex's condensed guide on using GenGP4:

1) Turn on the console, insert disc (or run psn title), install all game patches;
2) Plug-in the USB stick, run the ps4-dumper payload (.bin or standalone);
3) Run your game, make sure to get main menu, minimize game (PS Button);
4) Wait till completion. When the process is finished the lights stop blinking
and console will shutdown automatically (it is normal, not a panic shutdown);
5) Turn on your console, remove disc, uninstall the game (for further testing);
6) On PC: Plug-in the USB Stick, then open gengp4.exe, point into CUSAxxxxx dir
and press Generate .GP4, You should get the 'Done.', then press Save .GP4;
7) Open .gp4 in the orbis-pub-gen and build .pkg file
(You can get the orbis-pub-gen tool via PKG_Fake_Generator);
8) Run PS4HEN payload, install and test your .pkg;
9) Enjoy.

good evening guys, have venia but I can not download the updates of the games, I'll explain better, I bought a virgin ps4, I tried to log in with my account but it is not possible without updating, I tried to go on the game and start the update , but it's not possible without being logged in, I'm lost...

You have to download updates on your PC from here or here.

There's a repo of known updates requiring 4.05 or lower here.

is there a way to auto dump all game files via ftp to a pc drive instead of a USB plugged to PS4?

Kitchen 1.3 will still get that done for you...

@XVortex will the separated update pkg solve the problem with editing app_ver in the param.sfo to show update version in information screen?

Brief instructions how to make separated app and patch packages:

@XVortex if someone creates a separate update pkg, would this update pkg work on other dumps of the same game by different people or would this separate update pkg only work on this specific dump that was created by the same person?

I can't get Netcat Gui to inject any payloads. I keep getting error "failed to inject payload. Make sure the code execution is waiting for payload or the ELF loader is listening". Can someone please help?

Hi everybody,

I've been reading and working on pkg update problematic the last few days.
To apply official update, it requires for now to have retail disk and patch <= 4.05
They are often hard to find because urls are not predictable.

To grab this intermediate patch, they need to be gathered somewhere by someone and indexed by search engine. Sometimes we find only updates >= 4.05 and unfortunately this does not allow to gain benefits from many enhancements and bugfixes. I noticed that this updates are often compiled <= 4.05 (unpack and check dk version in param.sfo)

Questions :
1. does it exist a proper way to collect intermediate patch update with or without retail disk ?
2.a. is it possible in theory to apply official update > 4.05 regarding dk version ?
2.b. could it be sufficient to edit pkg and modify system_ver hex code directly ?
param.sfo is nor encrypted nor compressed inside pkg
2.c. any other way or ideas to do that ?

Who has problems with dumping games like a Mafia III, watch dogs 2 etc, please try do decrypt eboot.bin manually by THIS payload and compare results.
