How to Make PS3 CFW Games Work on Any PlayStation 3 OFW Guide

Following the PS3 Game Backups on OFW 4.70 guide, this method by me (Hibatullah Albatawy on YouTube) details how to make PS3 CFW games work on any PlayStation 3 OFW with a summary from @djurist located HERE.

Note that it needs two units of PS3 the CFW as the master and OFW as the target.

STEPS:

1. download GAME_CONVERT.rar
2. extract it to C:, it will be PS3>Game Convert>Convert.bat and make_npdata.exe
3. copy any PS3_GAME that have LICDIR folder in it, if it doesn't have then you have to find it yourself with LIC.DAT Generator online http://jonnysp.bplaced.net/lic.php#
4. paste it inside Game Convert folder, it will be PS3_GAME, Convert.bat, make_npdata.exe
5. double click Convert.bat, type NPxxxxxx, these x are your retail game id. for instance, the game id is BLES12345, then you must type NPEB12345.
6. wait untill it finishes its job
7. make a glass of hot cocoa
8. when it's done, you can see a new folder exist.
9. download the patch update for that game (BLES12345) and extract it. put the eboot.bin out of it. place it in NPEB12345/USRDIR/
10. create a folder named TEST on an external HDD (FAT 32)
11. copy NPEB12345 and BLES12345 (the extracted patch update), paste it into folder TEST.
12. on PS3 CFW 4.81, copy the two files into dev_hdd0/game..
13. do Rebuild Database
14. the game will be shown in XMB
15. turn on PS3 OFW 4.81 and plug an ethernet cable and connect it to PS3 CFW one.
16. on CFW, go to Settings> System Settings> Data Transfer Utitlity> pick number 1> say no> say no> waiting for transfer> enter
17. on OFW do the same way, but pick number 2, just wait till it gets questions for asking to format, hit yes and yes.
18. and transferring, happy waiting
19. drink your no longer hot cocoa
20. profit

You need to create an edat, to make it work, because you cant use a modified eboot...

Every game that have to install GAME DATA (like Ghost Recon FS, Farcry Primal, etc) is installing but keep the original data on the disk, so it is duplicating the data... There is no option to avoid this and save some space???

Somebody knows how to get GTA IV Complete Edition to work? I installed the game data of both of the games and still when running the converted game it does nothing... it stuck on (darker) images running, like loading.

hello thank you very much, i so far converted like up to 50games and all work fine, but i still have a problem with call of duty modern warfare 1,2,3 , cod ghost, god of war ascension, uncharted 2,3, last of us, how did you make them work?

Thanks for your reply. I will try this, but I don't think it will work. Which EBOOT should I put on the NPEB folder? I don't think it will work properly.

About the games that doesnt have updates, I am looking for an answer too. Don't know what to do... I saw people writing they managed it to work (Rayman LEgends for example) but didn't say how.

Well in fact (if you read some first pages you will see that) i had a problem with GTA V, because that didn't run after transfer. what i did before was extracting all Updates and edited param.sfo versions to be exact as updates.

Well after data transfer, i got failed and the whole game turned black screen of death. even on CFW. well i did another thing and it makes GTA V working... (i think it should even work on other games)

• Convert the GTA V game using tutorial
• Download all of Updates (it must be .pkg file)
• Just Extract EBOOT.BIN from one of updates (not the whole update just EBOOT.BIN) using PKGView1.3
• Replace the EBOOT.BIN with the one on the game (it must be on /USRDIR/ folder) (sometimes GameConverter will delete the Original EBOOT.BIN, so you must paste the EBOOT.BIN from the Update, after the Convert process)
• Just paste the game on your CFW (it must be on /dev_hdd0/game)
• Put all of that Update PKG files on a FAT32 USB Drive
• Install all of them from Install Package Section on CFW , from Smaller to Largest
• when install completes, check if the game running on CFW
• now you can Transfer the whole game (working) on OFW, using Data Transfer Utility
• drink your soda
• enjoy

Tested Games by me using Data Transfer method:

• WWE2K17
• Tekken Tag Tournament 2
• FIFA 17
• PES 2017
• GTA V
• LIMBO

and other games will be tested as soon as possible...

"Smaller to Largest" - means from oldest to newest update. Installing newer updates will prevent installation of older packages/updates

if this method still doesn't work, look for all files with sdat on them and change all sdat to upper case. sdat -> SDAT

For those looking for a way to convert game without updates, THERE IS NO WAY TO CONVERT THEM!!!!
Just look for another game to convert.

BTS doesn't need conversion, try replacing eboot from demo to main folder. edit the param.sfo from DG to HG, delete LICDIR folder...

main folder: NPUA72074
update folder : BCUS98298 (do not put EBOOT in it)
the attached pic is the one you should examine with yours and match it.

BTS finally work. The only problem is when the game start it's show warning "Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. The game will quit. (80022918)".

Heavy Rain I did it with normal convert. but first, play it in multiman to instal game data, exit and restart. Play it with converted game.
