Development is heating up on a RetroArch PS4 Official Version soon for Jailbroken PlayStation 4 users according to libretro on Twitter, with the latest progress updates from PS4Scene homebrew developers bigboss, fjtrujy and frangar including loading SELFs and assets from NFS via OrbisLink, RetroArch compiled with the OrbisDev Toolchain using the latest LLVM 13 version alongside the Nintendo NES / Famicom Emulator FCEUmm running in PS4 through RetroArch in the latest nightly update!

This past week Sony officially released PS5 4.00 Firmware / System Software enabling storage expansion support for M.2 Solid State Drives, and below is a list of confirmed PS5 M.2 SSDs that are compatible with the PlayStation 5 console's M.2 SSD Requirements previously outlined.

As more PS5 M.2 Solid State Drives are tested as compatible we'll update the PS5 M.2 Compatibility List below, and for those who've already joined the PS5Scene feel free to share your own test results in the comments that will also be added as time permits.

Earlier this month PlayStation 4 Emulation fans saw some builds with demos of the Spine PS4 Emulator, and recently the PS3 Emulator RPCS3 team shared a brief RPCS4 progress update via Twitter on the PS4 Emulator in development by DH who is RPCS3's founder.

While there's currently no RPCS4 PS4 Emulator test build publicly available yet, an RPCS4 (PS4 Emulation) Preview video of the current progress from DH can be seen in the Tweets below alongside details via AnnieLeo to quote:

"DH, RPCS3's founder, has given permission to share this quick progress update of his PlayStation 4 emulator. For full disclosure, the RPCS4 emulator is being worked on by DH, who worked on RPCS3 until 2016 and then left to start PlayStation 4 research, there is no overlap from the RPCS3 Team, which will continue to work on RPCS3."

Unfortunately PlayStation 4 Emulator for PC fake sites including PCSX4.com and RPCS4.com surfaced in recent years, but as noted in the Tweets below RPCS4 currently does NOT have a website so to avoid scams it's recommended to bookmark the official RPCS3.net site and follow them on Twitter for further updates.

Recently PS4Scene developer @marcussacana (Twitter) made available on Github a DirectPackageInstaller Tool followed by several revisions including DirectPackageInstaller 5.0.0 for Windows with source code to preview and send PS4 PKGs to a PS4 Remote Installer homebrew application from direct PKG URL links.
