Hello World! I've been reporting on Sony PlayStation hacking news since 2000 and started PSXHAX in 2014 to cover PlayStation (PSX), PlayStation 2 (PS2), PlayStation 3 (PS3), PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation Portable (PSP), PlayStation Vita (PS Vita), PlayStation TV (PS TV) and next-gen PlayStation 5 (PS5) platforms along with anything else of interest.
Click on my UserName author link above and you'll be able to view a curated list of all the articles I've contributed thus far to PSXHAX.COM!
The way the PS5 Help forum section works is simple:
A member asks a question, then others can respond to it and upvote or downvote the replies until the original poster (OP) or a Staff member selects the best answer to the question.
Note: Only Members and above can interact in this forum section when it reopens.
A few years back we had a PS4 Help section where members could ask random PlayStation 4 questions to get quick answers from the community, and then when we switched forum software from vBulletin to XenForo there wasn't a native Q/A solution so the import didn't carry over.
Since then many suggested to bring it back, primarily because users didn't want their questions to become buried in ongoing article topics... so beginning today with the new XF 2.2.2 update it's returning!

That's it for the moment, feel free to give the PS4 Help section a try and for those with a PlayStation 5 already we've also added a dedicated PS5 Help section now too.

You read that correct, following the previous PS3 OFW revision today Sony released a new PS3 Firmware / System Software 4.87 Update for those still holding onto their PlayStation 3 entertainment system video game console.
As always, it's NEVER a wise idea to update PlayStation Firmware in order to make use of such things as PS3 Custom Firmware (CFW), downgrading, homebrew, Webkit exploits, etc.
At the time of writing the official PlayStation Site hasn't been updated yet, but it likely includes the usual 'improves the quality of the system performance' security fixes.
Update: PS3 System software features
Version 4.87
This system software update improves system performance.

You may have to renew the AACS encryption key to play content such as movies on commercially available BD video software (BD-ROM). If a message indicating that the encryption key needs to be renewed is displayed, update the system software to the latest version. The encryption key will then be automatically renewed.
AACS (Advanced Access Content System) is a copyright-protection technology that is used...
