"The Seagate FireCuda 530 NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSD offers read speeds of up to 7300MB/s, meaning it easily meets Sony's 5500MB/s requirements.

Its slim design also means it fits into Sony’s dimensional limits for internal SSDs, even with a heatsink included as per the platform holder’s requirements.

The FireCuda 530 with a heatsink attached will cost $169.99 for 500GB, $274.99 for 1TB, $569.99 for 2TB and $1,049.99 for 4TB."

"We have done some testing with Sony on the PlayStation 5 and today we can confirm that the FireCuda 530 with the heatsink has met all the PS5 requirements. With the PS5 design, the SSD card slot is very narrow, so there's not much room for the SSD to mount.

However, with the FireCuda 530 – even with the heatsink on the top – the slim design allows for it to fit. Of course, the FireCuda 530 without the heatsink is slimmer, so both of them will fit into the PS5."

Since launching the PS5 Firmware v3.21 Update earlier this month following their PS5 System Software Beta Program Sign-Ups, today Sony officially released PlayStation 5 Beta Firmware 2.0-04.00.00 adding support for PS5 M.2 SSD Drives (like the Seagate FireCuda 530 SSD), 3D audio support for built-in TV speakers, several Friends tab management option updates, a trophy tracker and more outlined below!

Main Features Updated in this System Software Beta Program Version

• You can now insert an M.2 SSD to your PS5’s expansion slot and use M.2 SSD storage. Just like your PS5’s console storage, you can install PS5 and PS4 games in M2 SSD storage and play them directly from there. (Read more here.)
  • You can use PCle 4.0 M.2 SSDS with a capacity of 250 GB minimum and 4 TB maximum.
  • To safely insert or remove your M.2 SSD, make sure your PS5 is turned off and that the AC power cord is unplugged.
  • To use M.2 SSD storage, insert your M2 SSD in your PS5’s expansion slot while your PS5 is turned off. When you turn on your PS5, you’ll format your M.2 SSD so that it’s ready to use.
  • To move a PS5 or PS4 game that’s installed in console storage or USB extended storage to M2 SSD storage, go to your game library, press the options button and then select [Move Games and Apps]. Then select the game you want to move, and then select[Move].

I never got tickets but July was a roller coaster month anyway, so with August quickly approaching Sony just unveiled the new PlayStation Plus PS4 and PS5 games for subscribers featuring Hunter's Arena: Legends, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville and Tennis World Tour 2 all available to play starting August 3rd.

Hunter's Arena: Legends | PS4, PS5

As announced during State of Play earlier this month, Hunter’s Arena is coming to PlayStation Plus for both PS4 and PS5. The 30 player PvP & PvE combat-based battle royale is set in an ancient age in which humanity battles each other as well as a growing legion of demons that have been unleashed upon the world.

Earlier this month PlayStation 4 Scene developer @Al Azif (Twitter) began rewriting the PS4 Application Dumper from scratch in C++ aiming for a 'proper' release through extensive testing but noting that no code here is finished or guaranteed to work.

This comes following the previous PS4 Game / DLC / Updates / Themes Dumping Tutorial, PS4 Scene Collective Payloads, revised PS4 7.02 Game Dumper / FTP Payloads, PS4 7.02 How to Dump a Game Guide, updated PS4 7.55 / 8.00 Payloads, Al Azif's DNS File updates and LibJBC for developer PS4 homebrew apps.

Rewriting PS4 application dumper from scratch in C++. This repo will be deleted when a permanent repo is setup. Don't bother cloning unless you're going to be making immediate changes.

No code here is finished or guaranteed to work. Goal is for readability first to allow easier collaboration until everything is working 100%, don't want to optimize it too early:

1. Get it all working. For the first draft we will assume the asset is completely installed and is currently running on the system.
2. Refactor to make more sense.
3. More robust. Find/fix edge cases and have good, descriptive, error messages for issues...
