PSA: PS Vita Bricking VPK's Targeting PlayStation Vita Pirates
This weekend as MaiDumpTool continues being updated reports of PS Vita bricking VPK's surfaced from Reddit PlayStation Vita backups hub 'VitaPiracy' with details from AssuredlyAThrowAway below, to quote:

The following two dumps were posted to the subreddit today, and they both were confirmed as resulting in bricked Vitas;
Please send us a modmail ASAP if you come across users posting VPKs that result in bricked Vita's. We will ensure they are IP banned from reddit on a permanent basis.
Thanks to the folks on the vitapiracy discord for pointing out these threads to me, and thanks to our very active users who called out the malicious links in the comments section straight away.
Update 1: Technical explanation from /u/tuxdude143; As much as I don't condone backups I couldn't just leave this be as the consequences would be far too dangerous.
Anyways with that being said I have been analysing the vpks along with my friend /u/DinduStuffin and we have found that both of them make calls to OS0. The particular cause for concern is how they call for OS0 to be mounted along with OS0:KD and VS0. Now once those are mounted it basically just wipes them clean.
The consequence is the vita had no operating system to boot at all, nor does it even have any drivers to interface with any of the components (which are contained in OS0:KD. Basically the result is an UNRECOVERABLE BRICK which leaves the nand completely wiped and unbootable.
Consider it the first ever serious vita exploit.
I'll update this comment as we learn more about what makes this thing tick.

Yesterday we saw the official PS VR Unboxing, and today we've got loads of details on The Playroom VR... a free PS4 game included with PlayStation VR that allows players to experience the magic of virtual reality! 
Below are over 20 facts on The Playroom VR for PlayStation Virtual Reality owners from Producer Nicolas Doucet, as follows:
1.) The Playroom VR was created in Japan Studio by the same team that brought you The Playroom on PS4. The team is mostly made up of members who worked on games as varied as EyeToy, Ape Escape, EyePet, Gravity Rush, The Last Guardian, and WipEout. But for the remaining team members, The Playroom was their very first title!
2.) The name of the team who developed The Playroom is called Asobi! Team. “Asobi” in Japanese means “play.” The team picked that name so they would always put the fun of “play” at the heart of their games.
3.) The iconic floating robot in The Playroom VR has a printed serial number: A5081, which also could be read as Asobi!
4.) All you need to get going with multiplayer in The Playroom VR are: a single PS VR headset and a single DualShock 4 (and a friend, obviously).
5.) Monster Escape and Cat & Mouse both use the microphone built into the headset to change the voice of the VR player. And in Mini Bots, you can blow into the mic to make the little green helicopter take off. Maybe you’ll get a reward for keeping it airborne?
6.) Most games in The Playroom VR are built for multiplayer but two of them can also be played solo: Robots Rescue and Mini Bots. The latter is more of a chill experience than a game, and the perfect introduction to VR for your friends and family.

Today Sony's Social Media Director Sid Shuman shared a PlayStation VR unboxing video demo for those planning to take the plunge into PS VR (virtual reality) gaming this coming month! 
To quote: Now that we’re just two weeks away from the nationwide launch of PlayStation VR, I wanted to give you a look at what’s inside the Core package.
In the U.S. and Canada, the Core bundle will come with the PS VR headset and processor unit, wired stereo headphones, all required cabling and the PS VR Demo Disc, which contains 18 sweet demos — some of my favorites include Here They Lie and Battlezone, but try ‘em all and let me know your top pick.
If you missed out on pre-orders, the PS VR Core package will be also available at participating retailers nationwide on launch day, October 13.
