Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Encryption Now Live on PSXHAX.COM
Following the addition of Facebook Commenting here at PSXHAX.COM, today we've implemented Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption thanks to a suggestion by @MrV1rus and one that @oVERSoLDiER has been requesting for quite some time now. :D

What does this mean?

For end-users, you'll now see a green lock icon (pictured below) and a https:// instead of the antiquated http:// in the URL address bar of pages on the site and forums here.

Also, according to the almighty Google, HTTPS is being used as a ranking signal so it's definitely the direction they are encouraging sites to gravitate towards.

Once again, if anyone else has any ideas for the site feel free to bounce them around with the Staff in our Feedback and Suggestions forum section.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Black Sky PS4 Gameplay Video
Today at Comic-Con 2016 Activision's Ali Miller shared Black Sky campaign video footage of PS4 gameplay in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Check out the CoD Black Sky PlayStation 4 demo below, and from the video's caption to quote:

"When the Settlement Defense Front attacks UNSA forces in Geneva without warning during Fleet Week, Lt. Reyes and his squad have only one option: Fight back against the SetDef and give ‘em hell. Check out the Campaign gameplay from "Black Sky" in Infinite Warfare."

PlayStation VR Cinematic Mode Detailed on PS4
Sony's Japanese PS Blog recently revealed details on PlayStation VR Cinematic Mode for PS4 using Uncharted 4 as an example.

Those interested can also register at TryPSVR.com to receive PlayStation Virtual Reality updates, PS VR trials and related event locations near you.

To quote from UploadVR.com on the rough translation:

"PS VR's cinematic mode will offer three screen sizes; large, medium and small. The large mode is the equivalent 226 inches, making it much larger than any commercial television set and bringing it in line with a movie theater. Apparently the screen didn't even fit in the player's entire field of vision at first and they had to move so that it did.

PlayStation VR-Cinematic Mode.pngThe medium setting is the default option, and immerses you in a dark virtual space. The screen will fit your field of view. The small screen might sound a little pointless at first, but it looks as if the screen follows the user’s gaze in this case, thus allowing them to lie down etc.

Later on in the blog it's also confirmed that PlayStation 4 and PS VR will support 360 degree images and video content, seemingly through a native app. Expect to find out much more as the kit moves towards its October 13th release date."
Hacker Bunnie and The EFF Sues US Government Challenging DMCA
Since winning a petition, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and famous console hacker of Bunnie Studios known as Andrew 'Bunnie' Huang have sued the US government today challenging Section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

To quote an excerpt from his Blog on why he's suing the US government:

"Today I filed a lawsuit against the US government, challenging Section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Section 1201 means that you can be sued or prosecuted for accessing, speaking about, and tinkering with digital media and technologies that you have paid for.

This violates our First Amendment rights, and I am asking the court to order the federal government to stop enforcing Section 1201.

Before Section 1201, the ownership of ideas was tempered by constitutional protections. Under this law, we had the right to tinker with gadgets that we bought, we had the right to record TV shows on our VCRs, and we had the right to remix songs.

Section 1201 built an extra barrier around copyrightable works, restricting our prior ability to explore and create. In order to repair a gadget, we may have to decrypt its firmware; in order to remix a video, we may have to strip HDCP.

Whereas we once readily expressed feelings and new ideas through remixes and hardware modifications, now we must first pause and ask: does this violate Section 1201? Especially now that cryptography pervades every aspect of modern life, every creative spark is likewise dampened by the chill of Section 1201.

The act of creation is no longer spontaneous."

Comment below to share your thoughts on this, or if you support his decision to take on the government and get them to bring legislation up to date with modern technology!
