I will post this as a separate thread from the PS4 PKG2USB as the 2 payloads vary and it saves confusion.

Original Post: I was playing around with the ext0 mount and recreating the file structure that would be there if the pkg was installed to external storage.

There is a trick I found where if you copy the CUSAXXXXX folder from /user/app to /mnt/ext0/user/app and then unplug the hdd and plug it back in it causes the ps4 to do a repair and then the game is recognized as installed on external storage and from there there are other issues.

BUT with the great work SiSTRo has done in PKG2USB with the symlinks its a lot easier to manage with exfat and just normal USB.

So building on his PKG2USB and symlinks I modified what I was working on for the ext0 mount to work with the usb0 or usb1 and symlinks.

This payload searches the entire /user/app folder and copies all installed fpkg games to usb from the system drive and creates the symlinks like SiSTRo has kindly shown us the ability to do.

If you want to target a single game not the whole folder use PKG2USB.

If you install more games just run the payload again and it will copy any new games to the USB and so on.

With symlinks you are making a link to a directory so you want to pick which USB port to have the hdd on and keep it on that same port or the links will point to the wrong directory. USB0 is what I use.

@stooged i have 3 questions:

1-Can you explain how works the .ini file ? What should i do if i dont want to move a game to ext ?

2-How can i install a game update after moved all games ?

3-Where is the location of the installed game updates, internal or external ?

I read through the posts and don't see an answer to the questions about updates. From what I understand, there is an app.pkg associated with updates as well (correct me if I'm wrong).

If we install a game to the internal with an update and then link it on an external, is the game still updated? Is there a way to move both the game and update to the external, or using this method, we must keep all update files on the internal and install them before moving the actual game to external? Thanks.

Hi all i have been useing APPTOUSB but it always cuts off ps4 while its copying. i use ORIGINAL exploit and i inject APPTOUSB payload with NETCAT GUI. any ideas what is causeing the cut off? By the way i have no problems With PKGTOUSB payload.

Great piece of code @stooged but I have one question: Which USB ports I should use? I have an external USB 3.0 HDD. At the moment I'm using the front ones but I guess using the back ports will look nicer. Or are only the front ports working for external playing? The problem is I already started the copy process and it will still take some hours.

Thanks for your help.

@kevinbrew
I wouldnt know what is causing your cutoff i have never used netcat and it could be anything from the exploit you are using to the hdd.
without much info no one can really help.

@xfighter11 If you are on 4.55 it shouldnt matter which usb port you use.
If you are on 4.05 you want to use the same port every time.
The main thing is to make sure you are using a usb3 port and hdd.

@stooged: Thanks for the information, I'm on 4.55. I have another further question: In which order the games are moved to the external HDD? It looks a little random but tbh I cannot imagine. I would like to know how long the move process of my 1TB of games will take approximately.
