I will post this as a separate thread from the PS4 PKG2USB as the 2 payloads vary and it saves confusion.

Original Post: I was playing around with the ext0 mount and recreating the file structure that would be there if the pkg was installed to external storage.

There is a trick I found where if you copy the CUSAXXXXX folder from /user/app to /mnt/ext0/user/app and then unplug the hdd and plug it back in it causes the ps4 to do a repair and then the game is recognized as installed on external storage and from there there are other issues.

BUT with the great work SiSTRo has done in PKG2USB with the symlinks its a lot easier to manage with exfat and just normal USB.

So building on his PKG2USB and symlinks I modified what I was working on for the ext0 mount to work with the usb0 or usb1 and symlinks.

This payload searches the entire /user/app folder and copies all installed fpkg games to usb from the system drive and creates the symlinks like SiSTRo has kindly shown us the ability to do.

If you want to target a single game not the whole folder use PKG2USB.

If you install more games just run the payload again and it will copy any new games to the USB and so on.

With symlinks you are making a link to a directory so you want to pick which USB port to have the hdd on and keep it on that same port or the links will point to the wrong directory. USB0 is what I use.

Thanks again to SiSTRo, xVortex, Anonymous, CelesteBlue!

thanx @stooged for your great work.

I have a request why you don't write down your changes log in your GIT and give a brief description about your payload.
bc every time your post some info or new features i wrote it down but not all the users are like me or maybe this there first time to see this payload so it will be hard for them to read all the 30+ page to know what the payload can do and what it can't.
and it will benefit you that you don't need to repeat your post every time.

I hope you accept my request bc I think this is the second most important payload after the HEN payload.
I would like to help you with the writing but English is not my native language and i can't write very will.

thanx again

I have another question. Finally my migration process to external HDD went through successfully. But there is something foolish with the drive capacity. I have a PS4 with 1TB internal HDD and my external USB 3.0 HDD has 1.5TB capacity. Shouldn't be the system space 2.5TB in total then? It only shows 1.5TB in settings. Only 0.5TB more than before with internal HDD only. Where is the other TB gone?

Please hep me guys :)

Is there a performance difference between playing games from internal and external ? Which gives more performance ? I have a Seagate PS4 Game Drive and it reads 120 mb/s on USB3 port.

@ahmetali123

It should be around the same if you use a usb3 drive as i am pretty sure the ps4 only has sata2 for the internal drive.

@hyndrid

If multiman does the same thing here the speed will be exactly the same ;)

@xfighter11

The usb capacity does not get combined with the system capacity.
The system capacity will only rise when a game is moved to the usb hdd and linked as the system will read that pkg file as used space and then calculate the used space + free space to make the capacity value.

since v10 it doesn't move any games :(
it creates the folder on the hdd but doesn't move the pkg.
when i start the payload there comes a message "move updates" an then only a few seconds later "complete" and then nothing more happens...:cry:
