This comes following the PS4 6.72 to 5.05 Backporting Tutorial, SELFUtil by Znullptr, PS4 RiPKiT/Modding/Cheat/BackPort Tool and EZ PS4 Downporter utility for backporting 6.72 games to run on 5.05 Firmware with a Jailbroken console.

Here are some PS4 Backporter v1.0.exe notes from his Tweets below:
  • Still very much work in progress and has a few bugs. Will release a new version later. A known bug right now is that you can't set the output path to the root of the drive. If you do it wont save the final pkg file.

  • Also won't work with EA titles right now. Due to all the extra patching that's needed to get those games working.

  • Drag pkg file into "input pkg file". Click the button.

Hey, in general this would be the right path for 5.05:

1. install base pkg game dumped on 6.72
2. install base pkg patch for 5.05 (done this, games work)
3. install update pkg dumped on 6.72
4. using this tool patch the update from step 3 and install at last

Is this correct?
 
My case:

installation of vc_redist.x64 and python-2.7.17.amd64 (launching the program, selecting the game package for FW 6.72, launching create a backport patch and the result:

sfo error and log txt msg:

I see the created PKG at the end of the process, but then it dissapears, guess it didn't save... but I didn't set the output path to root, the path is a folder just like in his vid ???

applies to running PS4 Backporter v1.0 file on Win 10 in compatibility mode other than Windows8.

FIX: ?

Change the compatibility mode to Win8 in the file properties and it should work. Please confirm if this method works. I confirm.
