Proceeding the 7.02 PS4 KEX, 6.72 PS4 Webkit Port, 6.72 PS4 Payloads and the 6.72 PS4JB Exploit today PlayStation 4 developer @MODDEDWARFARE returns via Twitter with PS4 Backporter v1.4 tool for backporting 6.72 to 5.05 FPKG Games alongside a new demo video below from his YouTube Channel and more updates! 😍

Download: PS4 Backporter v1.4.zip (76.5 MB)

Spoiler: Depreciated

This comes following the PS4 6.72 to 5.05 Backporting Tutorial, SELFUtil by Znullptr, PS4 RiPKiT/Modding/Cheat/BackPort Tool and EZ PS4 Downporter utility for backporting 6.72 games to run on 5.05 Firmware with a Jailbroken console.

Here are some PS4 Backporter v1.0.exe notes from his Tweets below:
  • Still very much work in progress and has a few bugs. Will release a new version later. A known bug right now is that you can't set the output path to the root of the drive. If you do it wont save the final pkg file.

  • Also won't work with EA titles right now. Due to all the extra patching that's needed to get those games working.

  • Drag pkg file into "input pkg file". Click the button.

Quick question:

I'm pretty versed in exploiting, fpkgs, homebrew, etc. I'm also on 505 and in no hurry to jump ahead until 672 is clean because gaming is not a priority of mine.

However, some are claiming that installing a backported title on 505 is making all their original 505 titles not work. How?

Now, I always run HEN 1.8 with 505 and understand that other, newer versions have extra things added like spoofing and such. I'm already aware of the issues some titles had with certain versions of HEN on 505 even.

So, is the issue that backports need the newest HEN and the newest HEN doesn't work with "originally installed" 505 titles OR is the actual act of installing a backport messing up the file structure?

It seems like HEN makes the most sense but some are saying NO HEN works on OG 505 titles after they installed merely a backport, as if it messes up the HDD somehow. Yet, I can't see how that makes any sense. Anyone have a proper explaination? Thanks.

The 2.0 versions of HEN added support for backports. The latest is 2.1.4.

No idea about messing up 5.05 games because of a backport. Some people updated to 6.72 and have problems with 5.05 games. Eventually that should get worked out.

Just tested the new v1.1 Backporter on Sekiro update patch 1.04. It installs but crashes after launching. Error message says corrupted data. This could just be a problem with the game or needing 6.72 and not the program though.

Thanks @MODDEDWARFARE for all the efforts.

Tested the new version too, it's definitely messing something up with the updates, Just strips the update data out of the update and you end up with a corrupt file if you try and install it, Same as the first version did.
