Since the release of PS4 HEN (which can be used with Android and iOS) the 4.05 PlayStation 4 scene has been on fire while PS4 developer @CelesteBlue worked on a PS4 System Update Blocker with testing and hosting done by @LightningMods followed by V2 and V3, V3.1, V3.2, PS4 4.55 Update Blocker HEN and PS4 4.55 Update Blocker HEN V3! :fire:

To recap briefly, we've seen guides on how to block PS4 updates, covered some reasons why you may want to block them, reported on Sony blocking some PS4 Playground sites in PS4 Web browsers, and most recently added a tutorial on how to remove the downloaded PS4 Update PUP from your system if it hasn't been installed yet. :sneaky:

Download: HEN + Blocker.bin (13.8 KB) / BlockerV2.bin (14.3 KB) / GIT / UpdateBlockerFTP.bin (22.1 KB - V3) / PS4 4.55 Update Blocker FTP GIT / Blockerv3.1.bin (22.0 KB) / Blockerv3.1woSpoofer.bin (22.1 KB) / BlockerV3.2.bin (22.1 KB) / UpdateBlocker+HEN+Spoofer.bin (1.00 MB) / GIT

To quote from the included README.md: PS4-HEN-Update-Blocker-Payload

This Payload contains Debug settings, Update Blocker, and HEN in 1!
  • UPDATED
only 14kb now
  • More Info
The update blocker creates a folder in /update and unlinks the folder DO NOT REMOVE IT You WILL still get the notification of a update let the update download to %100 then you will be greeted with a "Cannot download" message and you cannot install it either so now you cannot update it accidentally...

You can use my website to inject it without injecting it via PC

I am on 4.55
After I run the holi grail, I open the link and inject the update blocker. Then that's it? Do I have to do this every time I start the PS4 or is it enough to do it once and it will stay forever? Thank you for the help, I am new to this.

Also, whenever I try to open the page and execute - I get an error saying "system not vulnerable"
Am I doing something wrong?

@wwywong
just remove the contents.......well actually what you should do is just MOVE THEM to your desktop..... so now the update folder is empty....then update your system etc...run exploits etc.....then open FTP and PUT THEM BACK SO ---- so you cant accidentally update
i'm doing my ps4 tonight

Please note that the new 4.55 payload creates a wrong folder name: PS4UPDATE.temp.net instead of PS4UPDATE.net.temp. As a result, the latest update is downloaded! (even if it cannot be installed).

I have already reported this issue to the author in GITHUB.

Can these new payload updates enable external USB playback that m0rph3us1987 disabled on his end? Or would a new HEN (along with resultant payloads) need to be created? Thanks!

So, I have installed the new update blocker from the HEN online page directly. Someone commented that it creates PS4UPDATE.temp.net instead of PS4UPDATE.net.temp. As a result, the latest update is downloaded! (even if it cannot be installed).

So I have used the FTP to change the name to the proper one. As I did this, I have noticed that I have a folder called simply "UPDATE.PUP" in there too. Should I delete this folder?

Also - does anyone know if simply changing the name from PS4UPDATE.temp.net instead of PS4UPDATE.net.temp will fix things with the mistake? Thanks for the help.

So to recap:
1. Should I delete the "UPDATE.PUP" folder?
2. Is it enough of a fix now that I have renamed PS4UPDATE.temp.net to PS4UPDATE.net.temp?
3. Should there be a dot (.) at the end of the folder name "PS4UPDATE.net.temp" or not? (basically it it would look like this PS4UPDATE.net.temp. )

I just replaced PS4UPDATE.temp.net with PS4UPDATE.net.temp through FTP (by using Filezilla), with no dot at the end. The other folder should be fine (PS4UPDATE.PUP). I didn't touch this one. I have no UPDATE.PUP folder. And that's it. Now it does not download or install the latest update.
