PS4 System Software / Firmware 12.00 OFW Live, Don't Update!

Alongside the PS5 Firmware 10.00 Update, proceeding the previous revision Sony also pushed live PS4 System Software / Firmware 12.00 OFW with the PS4UPDATE.PUP updates and official changelog detailed below.

As always, DON'T UPDATE if you wish to use PS4 Fake PKG Games via PS4 Torrents and Homebrew Apps whenever a new PS4 Jailbreak Exploit arrives in the PlayStation 4 Scene.

Fresh back into the scene after many years. I recently picked up a PS4 for 30 bucks at a thrift store after discovering it was just dirty but functional. I hadn't owned a PS console outside the Vita since the ps3 days. When I saw there was a new exploit I held out hopes this PS4 was on an older FW. Thankfully it was on 10.71 so it was straight forward to setup a pi for pppwn and pop mine after updating to 11.0.

The vita I loved and played for years but always felt I was missing out on the remote play functionality of having both the vita and ps4. It will be fun to see what exclusives there are that I haven't yet played on the pc.

everything's good with jb since i updated to 11.00.. i think its more stable than 9.00, maybe we get more out of it with this update? if it's exploitable

I only recently became introduced to the world of jb initially with my ps3 and it's literally been amazing since ps has been a part of my childhood so the ps4 jb was just a whole new world

I just bought a used ps4 and it's on firmware version 11.50. Is there a way to jailbreak it or do I have to wait ?

- You sell this console and go chasing another one on 11.00 or lower firmware.

Congrats on the PS4 purchase! Unfortunately, if your PS4 is on firmware 11.50, there's currently no public jailbreak available for that version. The last supported jailbreak is for firmware 11.00, so you'd need to be on that or lower to jailbreak your system.

For now, you’ll have to wait and see if any exploits or jailbreaks are released for firmware 11.50. It’s always a good idea to avoid updating your system if you plan to jailbreak in the future, so you might want to disable automatic updates and stay tuned to the PS4 homebrew community for any news. In the meantime, enjoy your PS4!

If there is one thing I've learned about software it is that it never pays to be an early adopter or updater. Unless you are a switch owner and own a paper clip, then you can get away with it.

This goes for gpu drivers also. If it aint broke...

I heard the PS4 JB was getting huge progress and getting closer to the latest updated firmware. thanks so much Sony for the new updated, now we got to wait another year!
