PS4 System Software / Firmware 12.00 OFW Live, Don't Update!

Alongside the PS5 Firmware 10.00 Update, proceeding the previous revision Sony also pushed live PS4 System Software / Firmware 12.00 OFW with the PS4UPDATE.PUP updates and official changelog detailed below.

As always, DON'T UPDATE if you wish to use PS4 Fake PKG Games via PS4 Torrents and Homebrew Apps whenever a new PS4 Jailbreak Exploit arrives in the PlayStation 4 Scene.

My cousin came over and decided that my jailbreakable 11.00 ps4 slim needed an update. Now I dont have a jailbreakable console any more.

I wonder too if the latest firmwares will be jailbreakable like PS3 somedays, or even 11.50. I heard some people keep exploits to themself until the console is not updated regularly anymore so anybody can use them, I know a lot of gamers on 11.50 are waiting for something to come out or not so people with 11.50

Would be interesting to see what else they changed, seems like an upgrade from 11 -> 12 would warrant a bigger changelog than just messaging

They probably fixed all the security holes. I'll be very surprised if i see a jailbreak on 12.00

Me too, especially because it took a lot when it was on 11, luckly i stopped updating.

On the other side i was on 9.00 and a cousin of my fiancee visiting us played a game and updated the ps4 system LOL, i almost killed him ahahah

As I always say whenever the latest firmware comes out it's never going to benefit the JB scene at my house we a very prepared with auto update I have disable it on my dad's ps4.

I have turned it off because one day I have bad feeling his going press the yes button by mistake because the console well pop up and say an update is available would you like install without even thinking about it.

I have explained it how JB work he understands but safety first right lads. I do have an auto jailbreak tools as well the closest to untethered jailbreak we can get but love the tinkering and backwards compatibility

Recently got my PS5 so PS4 is on a break. It will be collecting dust for some time but really excited to JB. The thing is, I did have a firmware to JB but my brother updated the console while I was not home...

@limhaal & @cris101 , to block those updates you have to change your Dns settings.

I've had a ps4 since 2018 with fw 5.07. Even with all progress achieved on jb I'm still afraid of update to newer version. Thanks to all to still support backported games.

I'm fan of Fifa and it has been possible to play it all these years because of the work done by this wonderful team. Thanks!!!

I took a chance the other day and paid £50 for a used slim locally. The owner didn't know what fw it was on so I risked it and took it home. Sadly, it was on 12 so it was a no go for me. I gave it a clean up and put it on ebay then made a £40 profit just 3 hours later. Can't argue with that!

Took the money from that and have now bought a fat PS4 on 7.02. So much better! I could update it a bit, but are there any real benefits of going from 7.02 to say 9.0?
