Since their previous revision last month, today Sony pushed live the latest PS4 System Software / Firmware 8.03 PUP update... and miraculously they actually added a new feature this time! 🙏

:alert: As always DON'T UPDATE if you wish to use PS4 game backups and homebrew apps whenever a new PS4 jailbreak exploit arrives, and we'll add any related Tweets as PlayStation 4 scene developers have a chance to examine it.

Here's the official 8.03 PS4 Firmware Changelog from Sony's page: PlayStation 4 system software update

Version 8.03

Main features in the system software update

  • [Disable Game Chat Audio] has been added under [Sound/Devices] in the quick menu. If you turn on this setting, game chat audio will be disabled. Your voice won't be heard, and you won't hear other players' voices. This setting doesn't apply to party chat audio.

I think the dns settings may be the way to go. I have automatic downloads disabled in the settings, today I removed al azifs dns settings while fiddling. My system downloaded 8.02 firmwatre, fortunately it did not install. Gave me a fright all the same. promptly re inputted dns & deleted update
