Running Fake / Custom Package (PKG) Files from USB / HDD Guide

Following his last guide, today PlayStation 4 developer @MODDEDWARFARE let us know on Twitter that he's posted a new video tutorial on his YouTube Channel covering How to Run Fake / Custom Package (PKG) Files from USB / HDD on jailbroken PS4 4.05 and 4.55 consoles.

This video also covers how to run the package files from a USB device instead of the internal hard drive.

I dont get the purpose of copying the pkg manually. App2usb payload does that automatically in less than 3 secs. Also the video says that moving 1GB file from internal to external takes half an hour which is completely false. I just dont get his so called tutorials to be honest. Still using netcat eventhough we already have al-azif's to do that. To each his own I guess.

Do you need to extend your external drive as PS4 storage first??

No you don't need to extend your Ext HDD. The only thing you have to do is format your Ext HDD as exFAT if you want to use it with the PS4.

Urgent help needed please
im unable to inject any payloads
im on Windows 10 ive tried it with PS4 Aio and Netcat gui none of them work
ive done both with A/V off firewall off
My ps4 is on JB 4.55

i get the following error message

Failed to inject payload. make sure the code execution is waiting for payload or the ELF loader is listening

Speeds seem to be pretty slow doing this (taking longer to load games, cutscenes etc..). Any tips??

I’m a little confused here. So I loaded all the pkg onto an external HDD and label the folders using the game ID, etc. when I transferred the payload, it copied HZD to the external dive, which was on internal prior.

My problem/question is I’m not seeing any of the games that is on my external HDD. Do I need to install the game to internal first, then do the payload? Do ant seem to be the case but I just don’t see any games that are on my external drive.

Need to install game to internal first then every sub folder under PS4 needs to be a app.pkg not tittle I’d pkg. got it to work on my 4.05

Now trying to dump a game via 4.55 with Alize’s server is damn impossible.

@LeeSeng2017 no i tested that today does not work also large files from games are still left on ps4 storage device its not like Multiman on ps3 where it moved the whole game!

Instead of trying to get working method workaround, it is better to put time and effort and enable in exploit original firmware feature wich is external drive support. Which is disabled not by sony, but author of original exploit.

Not saying it's easy, or even possible, just better
