PS3 System Software 4.88 Update Live, Don't Update Your Firmware!
If your PlayStation 3 has been collecting raindrops as a doorstop the last few console generations, rest assured that Sony just released a shiny new PS3 Firmware / System Software 4.88 Update for it... and as expected their typical vague changelog simply states, "This system software update improves system performance." 
As always, it's NEVER a wise idea to update PlayStation Firmware in order to make use of such things as PS3 Custom Firmware (CFW), downgrading, homebrew, Webkit exploits, etc.

This comes following the previous PS3 OFW update, and from the official PlayStation Site on PlayStation 3 System Software Update 4.88:

SMAP Bypass FreeBSD 12 Vulnerability May Affect PS5 via M00nbsd
Recently a SMAP (Supervisor Mode Access Prevention) Bypass FreeBSD 12 Vulnerability reported by m00nbsd via Twitter was disclosed on the HackerOne.com bug bounty site in a flurry of PlayStation Hacktivity, which according to m00nbsd may also affect the PlayStation 5 although he reports being unable to confirm the SMAP bypass on a PS5 console. 
For those following the PS5 Jailbreak updates and PS5 NFOs in the PS5Scene, this comes proceeding the Talos WebSocket Vulnerability that may be present in the PS5 WebKit... also unconfirmed in part due to the limited console supply as a result of PlayStation 5 Scalpers.
The potential PS5 SMAP Bypass references CVE-2021-29628, which is described as follows:
In FreeBSD 13.0-STABLE before n245764-876ffe28796c, 12.2-STABLE before r369857, 13.0-RELEASE before p1, and 12.2-RELEASE before p7, a system call triggering a fault could cause SMAP protections to be disabled for the duration of the system call. This weakness could be combined with other kernel bugs to craft an exploit.

SMAP is a security feature on x86 CPUs, that forbids ring0 from reading/writing to ring3 pages, making it harder to exploit entire classes of vulnerabilities.

State of Play for May 2021: Horizon Forbidden West & PS5 Gameplay Videos!
The next PlayStation State of Play live streaming event takes place this afternoon featuring a first look at Horizon Forbidden West gameplay footage captured on PS5 alongside more trailer videos below for the PlayStation 5 Scene to enjoy! 
Those interested can check it out via Twitch or YouTube at 9AM PDT / 5PM BST / 6PM CEST for the special State of Play Pre-Show, and at 2PM PDT / 10PM BST / 11PM CEST for the Horizon Forbidden West gameplay reveal.
According to Sony Content Communications Manager Brett Elston, the main State of Play will feature about 14 minutes of exclusive Horizon Forbidden West PS5 gameplay with Game Director Mathijs de Jonge stating the following, to quote:
"This reveal has been a true team effort and we’re very excited to show you what we have in store. Whether you’ve been with us and Aloy since Horizon Zero Dawn or are only just getting to know this incredible world, we want to share this huge milestone with you and cannot wait to see your favorite moments and reactions."
