Dreams PS4 API Proxy & Network Reverse-Engineering by Jaames
Last month Sony quietly shutdown a game's servers with no warning 😑, and as many are spending hundreds of hours creating MadeInDreams content for use with Dreams on PS4 it only makes sense to be able to backup / export and download level data but unfortunately this isn't the case... enter Jaames (aka Rakujira on Twitter) of JamesDaniel.dev who's working on a Dreams PS4 API Proxy & Network Reverse-Engineering project with his ultimate goal being to resolve this issue!

It's still a work-in-progress (WIP), but those interested in lending a hand can do so via Github where you'll find detailed API proxy & network reverse-engineering documentation for Media Molecule's Dreams PlayStation 4 video game. :geek:

Download: dreams-api-master.zip / GIT

From the README.md to quote: Dreams API

API proxy & reverse-engineering notes for Media Molecule's Dreams; a rad user-generated-content game on the PS4.

Currently consists of a NodeJS indreams.me API proxy that handles auth headers for you, plus some documentation

Motivation

The Dreams community is incredible, although the lack of export/backup options concerns me a little bit considering the sheer number of hours that people have put into making content. It would be a damn shame if Sony decided to pull the plug on all of these wonderful creations one day - so my ultimate goal is finding a way to download level data before then!

It's also... just kinda fun to figure out how things work :p

Deeper Into PS5 with Eric Lempel, Chivalry 2 Cross Play Trailer Video
Since yesterday's The Future of Gaming PS5 Show ending with the PS5 Hardware Unveiling, Sony PlayStation's Eric Lempel dug deeper into the PlayStation 5 answering some more questions via PS Blog on their next-generation video gaming console. 🤩

Also below is a Chivalry 2 cross-play PS5 / PS4 trailer video by Torn Banner Studios via Deep Silver now that the functionality has exited the Beta Stage and is available to all PlayStation developers. (y) From the interview, to quote:

PSB: Why has it taken so long to see PS5 games in action?

Eric:
Coming out of PlayStation 4, all of the success we've seen, and the fans' passion for the brand, we really wanted to make sure we delivered strongly with PlayStation 5.

As we've said many times, PS5 is truly a next-generation console. It’s a leap ahead. And we wanted to wait for the right time when everything lined up. And I think, and I hope, that fans saw that we had a great mix of content from our partners and our studios, and that we delivered on expectations.

PSB: We also got our first look at PS5. Can you give us any insight into how the console design made its way out to the public?

Eric:
I'll give you a little story. Many months ago, I was in Tokyo. I got an invite to a meeting with Jim Ryan, our President (and CEO), and a bunch of other people. Pretty small group. And it was on a floor in the Sony headquarters building that I’d never been to before. The subject of the meeting was, “design.”

So I thought I was going to a design meeting. And I got to this floor, and... there were a few doors you had to get through... you finally end up in this mini vault, a walk-in vault...
