The start of this thread says otherwise
There are many controversy in here. Some websites say its working, another say it isnt working, i tested myself with no succeed, only with the pkg provided here. The only way, i think proved, is the data transfer utility, that you copy the games from a cfw ps3 to another 4.81 ofw ps3, didnt tested because i dont have a ps3 with cfw.

PS if you search you will the major time that 4.70 can use backup Mode and for 4.70+ only can use dtu

Has anyone tried going to SEX 4.81 aka kiosk and injecting backup? Then going back to CEX through recovery menu?

Cheers.
I didnt because i have many things on my ps3 and i cant backup them up on any flashdrive, have no space. If you can Just do it and tell If you have success with more games than this minecraft, try FIFA or call of duty or gta V.

you are correct. However, I don't frequent this forum because i believe in the majority or status quo. I know from personal experience that the best solutions are usually laughed off or covered up for 1 reason or another, whether it be to protect market shares or competition, or even just someone who thinks that if he can't understand how it works, then it simply can't be.

And i understand that all the while you are being bombarded with misinformation and noob questions. Just keep in mind that there are no true absolutes in real life. Keep this in mind always, as the next article you laugh off might not be there tomorrow, and once again, nothing is absolute. Cheers

it does work but not in the way ppl have imagined as you need two consoles cfw 2 ofw to load and swap can be used as a gateway however.

ok let's say hypothetically that is true. Why does it have to sound so limiting because of the cfw?

Step 1: connect two ps3s with an ethernet cord, one with cfw. (i don't have cfw)

So our first thought might be, well let's get another ethernet cord and put a computer between the ps3s so we can record the traffic? Well the problem is the data is encrypted. (I don't know this but it's a strong assumption. Please feel free to let me know in the comments below if i'm wrong

This could possibly be decrypted, but not by me any time soon. So now what? Well, what if we didn't have to decrypt it? What if we just let the encrypted data pass through without modifying it? And you'd say, "no duh, bro!! That's how it works to begin with. That's the whole point. Just leave it alone."

Ok, so no worries, but there's a computer in the middle now because we were sniffing around earlier. Let's use that to our advantage. If we redirect the connection at the computer, we can connect to other ip addresses across the internet to another location where the ps3 is being rerouted through another computer.

Now I know what you're thinking, "Hey, wait a second! How does that benefit me?" Well that means if you can connect with another user online with a cfw ps3, you can get a modified dump installed onto your ps3! That's why this is for everyone. Because it will take more than just the guys wanting their ps3s modded to accomplish it. It needs to be a team effort. What if there was a section in the forum where people could link up and work together to get this accomplished on an individual or group basis?

If you wanted to take it a step further, you could organize it yourself as a site. Have a specific timeframe setup every week or month, when anyone with cfw who was feeling charitable could download that month's backup image (you could do different sets every month) and head to the spot to meet up with guys trying to get their crap jailbroken. If it got popular enough, you could finally get all the stragglers who got left behind originally or for whatever reason no longer has cfw.

This could be huge! It could probably even be monetized, if the site organizing it acted as a middleman to hold and release funds after completion of service, thereby charging a small fee. Why not? That could be a way of making it interesting for everyone else to participate that isn't the charitable type. You could have a free and a paid section. Maybe the paid section does custom backup images. Maybe the free section relies on ads.

Maybe someone with a bunch of cfw ps3s sets it up on a website to help automate his end of the process. I don't know i'm just spitballing here but i know there's a golden opportunity here.

You're a genius, it Will be so good for people who dont have two ps3 and dont have cfw either. I can help in this. What can we do now, create New thread? Share?

If you want to start a new topic (thread) for this by all means do so, if it gains some interest (more than just one or two replies) we can mainpage it also. ;)
