I will post this as a separate thread from the PS4 PKG2USB as the 2 payloads vary and it saves confusion.

Original Post: I was playing around with the ext0 mount and recreating the file structure that would be there if the pkg was installed to external storage.

There is a trick I found where if you copy the CUSAXXXXX folder from /user/app to /mnt/ext0/user/app and then unplug the hdd and plug it back in it causes the ps4 to do a repair and then the game is recognized as installed on external storage and from there there are other issues.

BUT with the great work SiSTRo has done in PKG2USB with the symlinks its a lot easier to manage with exfat and just normal USB.

So building on his PKG2USB and symlinks I modified what I was working on for the ext0 mount to work with the usb0 or usb1 and symlinks.

This payload searches the entire /user/app folder and copies all installed fpkg games to usb from the system drive and creates the symlinks like SiSTRo has kindly shown us the ability to do.

If you want to target a single game not the whole folder use PKG2USB.

If you install more games just run the payload again and it will copy any new games to the USB and so on.

With symlinks you are making a link to a directory so you want to pick which USB port to have the hdd on and keep it on that same port or the links will point to the wrong directory. USB0 is what I use.

Thanks again to SiSTRo, xVortex, Anonymous, CelesteBlue!

defaultdnb I think you might be wrong about that let me explain.

Internal well to my knowledge there is no 2.5 8tb on the market. I keep checking. You could maybe use an extender adapter and power source to get past that with a 3.5 sure. But I'd never do that. Moving on.

Now via USB here you have posted correct info. It is true USB drive will be detected with 8tb usable by the ps4 a user on my channel confirmed it works using app2usb.

Now read my post to yourself carefully. So it's usable data sure sure. But can the ps4 realize it has been used passed 6tb? Apparently the answer is no (at least with my launch day phat). So like once you get to that point if you attempt to calculate the used data using the console's built in storage screen it will freeze everytime. Doesn't mean you can't add more but 6tb seems to be the literal limit for sony's console. This utility is apparently allowing us to bypass that.

I think what I have posted is the first findings of a large collection and I would like others to share their info. Can you tell me when you make this claim of 16tb total have you actually used more than 6tb on such a filesystem?

@seanp2500

I havent personally used over the 500gb my OG came with.

Sonys official site and docs state that external supports 8TB max, and internal filesystem supports 8TB max: regardless if a drive exists that fits yet.

Reading up: even nykos data bank stipulates 8TB internally*, however it states *4TB recommended for <CUH-1200 OG models and *8TB for>CUH-1200 model consoles (non first gen, the phat ones wih the pure matt black finish aka C-chassis).

No idea why, as the firmware should be the same across all but pro ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@DEFAULTDNB not sure what i am doing wrong but when i run app2usb nothing is transferred. This is regardless if i have the pkg in the root, in the ps4/cusaxxxx folder, no matter how i edit the ini file, nothing. not even an error saying nothing can transfer. stumped. Maybe when i get my esp8266 it will work.

@DEFAULTDNB i am hosting with ps4 exploit host version 0.42. it is possible that doesnt have the latest version of app2usb but all of the other payloads work. going to add the new payload and try again i guess.
