I will post this as a separate thread from the PS4 PKG2USB as the 2 payloads vary and it saves confusion.

Original Post: I was playing around with the ext0 mount and recreating the file structure that would be there if the pkg was installed to external storage.

There is a trick I found where if you copy the CUSAXXXXX folder from /user/app to /mnt/ext0/user/app and then unplug the hdd and plug it back in it causes the ps4 to do a repair and then the game is recognized as installed on external storage and from there there are other issues.

BUT with the great work SiSTRo has done in PKG2USB with the symlinks its a lot easier to manage with exfat and just normal USB.

So building on his PKG2USB and symlinks I modified what I was working on for the ext0 mount to work with the usb0 or usb1 and symlinks.

This payload searches the entire /user/app folder and copies all installed fpkg games to usb from the system drive and creates the symlinks like SiSTRo has kindly shown us the ability to do.

If you want to target a single game not the whole folder use PKG2USB.

If you install more games just run the payload again and it will copy any new games to the USB and so on.

With symlinks you are making a link to a directory so you want to pick which USB port to have the hdd on and keep it on that same port or the links will point to the wrong directory. USB0 is what I use.

Thanks again to SiSTRo, xVortex, Anonymous, CelesteBlue!

Hey - short question: is it possible to rename the .pkg-files after linking them via app2usb?

I would like to rename them all (via pkg-renamer and the subfolder parameter). Or does app2usb link them to the exact .pkg-name and not only the subfolder and any file in it with a .pkg-extension?

(can't test it in the next 10 hours or else i would just rename one file and test it .. maybe someone has an answer until then)

@DEFAULTDNB i was able to fix the issue by rebuilding my database. For some reason tho i have one game that wont transfer (bloodborne). Hope this helps someone if app2usb wont run at all.

@Easymode i have bloodborne on ext hdd and it runs fine .dit you check if the cusa-id of the pkg. is right. sometimes the op doesn't always match the game you download.

@hemi426 i havent had time to check that but i tried to let app2usb copy direct from the internal so there may be another issue. Its not too big of an issue since nothing else is on the internal.

@wolfpacleader86 im planning on using this today but what i can confirm with you is that without the use of this, the ps4's mathematics is usually off with space calculation. Guess they never perfected the turn precise of drive space. Its even seen on ps3 especially if on cfw and your using a HUGE HDD!

Spoiler

Alright so I'm having some issues. I have 16 pkgs (that i already installed onto the internal) in my external's root. The spoiler i placed up above is my .ini file placed inside external/PS4/.

Everytime i run ApptoUSB it doesn't skip games and automatically tries to transfer God of War, which isnt on my externalHDD or the list of CUSA's i have listed in the .ini. I'm not sure what I have going wrong. I'm using the same method i've been using on 4.05 and 4.55.... Please help. Thank you!

yeah i have the same problem with god of war the us version 7408, another one in the github had the same problem, so he downloaded the eu version 7412 which transferred successfully into the his external hard disk.

i hope this get fixed.

@stooged I'd just like to report that the original v1 of the app... sometimes you would get too slow of speeds and have to unplug and replug the external hd back into the ps4 and run the app again etc..... on 4.55 and and5.05 i have not encountered the speed issue at all!! top speeds everytime :)

And the html version runs just fine for me on 5.05 (4.55 would always just hang, had to use necat and the bin file)
