Recently @stooged lent a hand sharing both details with source code on Backing Up and Restoring the PS4 Database, and he followed up with a handy DbBackup.bin Payload compiled for PS4 4.05 OFW users to backup their PlayStation 4 database to a USB Drive alongside one for dumping save data below.

Download: DbBackup.zip / Source Code / DB_SG_Backup.zip (8.79 KB - dumps save data into a folder called GameSaves) / DB_SG_Backup_v2.zip (8.27 KB - Dumps All User Accounts) / DB_SG_Backup3.zip (8.82 KB - Adds Notification Messages from 2much4u) / DB_Backup_455.zip (Updated for 4.55) / usb_455_db_backup.zip (0.02 MB) / Cache-Install: ApplicationCache.db / DB_SG_Backup-50X (Latest) / GIT

To quote from his recent post with usage instructions:

just put a usb stick/drive into the usb port and run the DbBackup.bin payload

it will save the addcont.db and app.db files inside a folder called DB_Dackup on the usb drive.

if you do not use a usb stick/drive it will backup the database into the /system_data/priv/mms/ folder on the ps4 and it will be called app.db_backup.

to restore the db just ftp into the /system_data/priv/mms/ directory and upload your backup copy.

credit to @XVortex for the neat way to check which usb port has the drive in it in their ps4dumper source, I tried a few other things with no decent result but @XVortex had a simple method to do the trick :)

I just did the Rebuild Database option as my system was having problems loading games and loading and saving in games. Now I need to know what to do to get everything working and installed again, with the correct HDD size.

I could install all my games again, but it asks if I want to reinstall for each game, and that would be painful. (Can I just FTP in and delete the CUSA files under /user/app/ ??)

Should I just reformat and start over? What about save files? How can I at least keep those?

This is in regard to this post. Thanks for any help!

@stooged I keep sending the DB_SG_Backup.bin payload, but it is doing nothing on the screen or to the USB. Am I missing something? I've tried V2 and V3.

In the rar there are a few other files/folders. Do those need to be in my ps4-exploit-host/payloads folder too? I don't understand the importance of these if I only need the .bin file?

I use rebuild database before any backup... how to make recur any games back? or i need to start again to install all of my games?']I use rebuild database before any backup... how to make recur any games back? or i need to start again to install all of my games?

@Rayker Not sure what you mean by recur any games? But I think you mean you rebuilt your database WITHOUT backing up first.

To fix it, you just have to reinstall every game you had installed... If you can't do that, than I would just Initialize the PS4 and it will wipe everything clean and restart fresh. Then just install all the games again.

You should also be able to go in and delete all the CUSAXXXXX folders, but I did not try this method to know how it works.

Which version should I use with the PS4 Exploit host? I tried to convert several versions from the bin file to js, but they just do not work - nothing happens. I was able to run the bin file (only a 7.19 KB file - I do not know what version), but it would be great if I could use it without bin injection. Any help?
