I was just wondering if i could install ferrox's CFW as a first time CFW or should i go with something else?

It looks like you found your answer HERE, and I too would recommend Rebug 4.80.1 CFW over Ferrox or any others as it's the most tested/used.

after update to this cfw now i can't play from bdrom i got error 80010514, the game just only play from app_home/ps3_game, can you fix it?

NB: i update from cfw 4.76 citramulya to cfw ferrox 4.80 v1.0 std cex.

I'm not familiar with Citramulya CFW, but here's what the 80010514 error code shows on the Wiki:
