Proceeding the 7.02 PS4 KEX, 6.72 PS4 Webkit Port, 6.72 PS4 Payloads and the 6.72 PS4JB Exploit today PlayStation 4 developer @MODDEDWARFARE returns via Twitter with PS4 Backporter v1.4 tool for backporting 6.72 to 5.05 FPKG Games alongside a new demo video below from his YouTube Channel and more updates!

This comes following the PS4 6.72 to 5.05 Backporting Tutorial, SELFUtil by Znullptr, PS4 RiPKiT/Modding/Cheat/BackPort Tool and EZ PS4 Downporter utility for backporting 6.72 games to run on 5.05 Firmware with a Jailbroken console.

Here are some PS4 Backporter v1.0.exe notes from his Tweets below:

• Still very much work in progress and has a few bugs. Will release a new version later. A known bug right now is that you can't set the output path to the root of the drive. If you do it wont save the final pkg file.
  
  
• Also won't work with EA titles right now. Due to all the extra patching that's needed to get those games working.
  
  
• Drag pkg file into "input pkg file". Click the button.

This tool includes and makes use of:

• Python Downgrade Scripts by Flat_z
• UnfSelf by @DimosGsxR
• gengp4 by XVortex

You must have installed:

• Python 2.7
• Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC

These are required for the tool to work correctly ^^^

First backport app to work on RDR2 update 1.13.... only issue it changed it to say version 1.14.

Bug in app adds 0.01 to version?

I have a question and hope that someone can help me. Sometime backporting the whole PKG help me and not the fix. This make a whole new PKG. So twice the size on my hard drive.

I'm gonna delete the origin PKG and the backported package to make space, but I was wondering if there is a location where this program put (hidden) files from the backporting PKG that you also can delete? Because I deleted both files and still there is more space used on my hard drive.

@ody1977, yeah I noticed the same thing for RDR2. Clearly some minor bug.

Did you test actual fix? There were reports about previous backport fix for this game to crash on some roberry mission. Wonder if it's by using MODDEN WARFARE backporter.

@ody1977 @Baku86 The adding of .01 to the version is intentional not a bug. He did this in the past for modded pkg. I bet if you look at the update history by pressing options. 1.14 will probaly say backported for 5.05 or something along those line. I’m not a home to update the game and verify that though so I could be wrong but either way it’s intentional.

@Baku86 sorry mate. I only checked to see if it loaded.... Couldn't be bothered to sit through all the opening credits. I left it running for about 5 mins and still didn't get to gameplay thought this was game not a movie!

@kylum thats controversial decision. What if I want to install actual update 1.14? I know it's not possible at the moment (higher firmware required) but still..
