@San Yu Wu @lotus78 Just because you have nodejs installed doesn't mean you will have the http-server module installed. That's why I added the test server option. If you don't have http-server installed then going through the test server option will attempt to install it for you by using the http-server -g command.

@MODDEDWARFARE at first - thx for the your tool - it very convenient to transfer multiple files from every location. (y)

but it seemes that in some cases the tool informs that the "http server is working normally" - although the server is not installed, and it works only after installing the server manually.

I noticed the "test server" button, and I also used it - but I got the info that everything is working - no info about installing the server...

@MODDEDWARFARE I've never been able to get PS4 Package Sender v1.0 to work either. I get the same problem of it just freezing and saying idle.
I have http-server installed and the Test Server button says 'http-server is working normally'

I think the reason it doesn't work for me might be because although I have http-server installed it is heavily modified becuse I use it to make my standalone exe servers for X-Project and PS-Phwoar!

Can you think of any workaround to be able to make PS4 Package Sender v1.0 work for me?

Update: I've been playing around with it and it definitely is because my http-server is modded.

I replaced my modded code with an original backup and it works. (the main problem was my code defaulted to port 80 instead of 8080)

I tried to make a workaround by making a standalone exe of http-server and that semi-works but it causes other problems.

Package sender does not go from 'sending' to 'sent' so I cant use it to send multiple pkgs. Also the server is left running in the background when the program is closed.

In the end it looks like I personally wont be able to use this but thanks for all your hard work. It does work perfectly when it is used how it was intended to be. :)

@Leeful Yeah the package sender homebrew app uses port 8080 so the port is hard coded in my app.

The reason it's not killing the server when you close it is because I'm an idiot and put the code to kill the server after it attempts to save the IP's to the ini file. So if something goes wrong writing to the ini file it will catch the exception and fail to run the code to kill the server. And some people think I can code! :D

Anyway I know there are a lot of problems with it and I'm gonna be working on addressing as many as possible in a new version soon.

@lotus78 Could you help me fix that by trying something for me? When you don't have the http-server installed and test server on the tool says it's working normally. Open a cmd window and type http-server, hit enter and tell me what response you get from cmd.

@Mukeshwaliya777 My code is horrendous. I have the proof. I recorded a whole video of me coding this tool start to finish. I was going to upload it months ago but it was just so long. Even edited down it was more than 2 hours and 30 minutes long.

@Leeful @lotus78 I know it's late but I just got around to making an updated version of the tool for you guys to test.

Changes:
  • Closing the tool should now close the server. Unless you kill the tool using taskmgr or by some other means.
  • I made some changes to the test server button so hopefully it will work for you now
  • I have also added an option to change the timeout value in seconds. That way if you're running into the issue where the tool is timing out before the download is finished, you can increase the timeout to prevent that from happening. If you're on wired then the default timeout value should be fine.

@MODDEDWARFARE
There are some problems about pkg sender programs. Below info are about my situation.

There are 3 programs that I tried:
- Old pkg sender program without GUI (e.g. Install_pkg.bat)
- Pkg sender v1.0 with GUI
- Pkg sender v1.1 with GUI

My First problem:
Old pkg sender program is sending pkg files from all location (e.g. HDD C & D & E etc...) so no problem.
But other 2 GUI programs are just sending pkg files if pkg exist in HDD C (main Windows operating system) otherwise not sending other HDD locations.

Shortly, old program serving correctly from all location,
But other 2 GUI programs just serving from HDD C

My Second problem:
If I setup console network settings with automatic and sending pkg files from HDD C:

- All 3 programs are sending pkg file and first it says downloading on screen then says not downloading so pkg icon showing on console main screen but X sign on it as corrupted.
Shortly, it's not working.

If I setup console network settings with manual config and sending pkg files from HDD C:
But, arrange DNS numbers manually as any numbers (with not working DNS numbers);

- Old program is sending pkg file and setup correctly. Shortly, it's working and no problem.

- Other 2 GUI programs are sending pkg file and first it says downloading on screen then says not downloading and no icon showing on console main screen but error message in notifications area. Shortly, It's not working.

If I setup console network settings with manual config and sending pkg files from HDD C:
But, arrange DNS numbers as 8.8.8.8 google (with working DNS numbers);

- All 3 programs are sending pkg file and first it says downloading on screen then says not downloading so pkg icon showing on console main screen but X sign on it as corrupted.
Shortly, it's not working.

If I setup console network settings with manual config and sending pkg files from HDD C:
But, arrange DNS numbers as Al-azif numbers as 192.241.221.79 or 165.227.83.145 or both numbers at the same time (with working DNS numbers);

- All 3 programs are sending pkg file and setup correctly. Shortly, it's working and no problem.

Summary;
If I use Al-azif DNS numbers in my network config. All 3 programs works well.
But pkg files must be in HDD C

I don't know why this situation occur. Have you got any idea about this?

And last everytime I can send only one pkg file. If I add 2 or more files, just sending first one
then waiting. So, everytime I'm closing pkg sender program and open again and add 1 pkg file to send process so it's working like this.

Thanks for your help and your good works.

@MODDEDWARFARE
Thanks for the update.
I've tested v1.1 and evererthing is working as it should for me. :)

@baybarsturan
I can send pkg's from any HDD on my PC and it works fine so I don't know why you can only send them from your C drive.

If you are sending more than 1 pkg file you MUST have the Remote Package Installer screen visible on your PS4. If it is not the package sender cannot send the file to the PS4.
I think this might be the problem why you cannot send more than 1 file at a time.

You can press the PS button to go to then menu to see the progress of the download but you must return to the RPI screen before it is complete or the second pkg will not be sent.
(This is a problem with RPI and not the Package Sender program.)

I too have had the problem with pkgs starting to download but then stoppiing mid way through when using WiFi (no problem at all with LAN).
In v1.1 there is a new Timeout option. Try setting that to 30-60 seconds and see if that solves the problem with sending pkg's over WiFi.
