First PS4 Homebrew Demo Video on 1.76 Firmware by BigBoss!
Last weekend we saw a glimpse of PS4 homebrew in the form of a screenshot, and following his previous work today PlayStation 4 developer BigBoss shared a video clip stating "No comments :openedeyewink:" while briefly demonstrating it in action! :notworthyxf2:

To launch it on a jailbroken PS4 1.76 console he used the recently documented Playroom method, which is similar to what PS4 scene release group Knights of the Fallen (KOTF) also outline in their NFO files.

Below are some recent Tweets for those following along, including some new PS4 Keys added to the Dev Wiki as pointed out by @HydrogenNGU:
Thanks to @LightningMods for the heads-up in the PSXHAX Shoutbox tonight, here's to hoping a PS4 CFW and MultiMAN PS4 port follow suit as PlayStation 4 development progresses! :lovewins:
Red Dead Redemption 2 Second Official PS4 Trailer by Rockstar Out
Today Rockstar released their second official PS4 trailer video showcasing the upcoming title Red Dead Redemption 2, which is slated to arrive on PlayStation 4 in spring 2018. :thumbsupxf2:

Check it out below, and to quote from Sony Social Media Director Sid Shuman:

Any day that Rockstar Games issues a new trailer is a special day. And today, we’ve got the all-new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, which was captured on PlayStation 4. Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PS4 this Spring.

Here are the latest details, straight from Rockstar: Red Dead Redemption 2 is the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.

A friendly reminder that PlayStation owners will get additional benefits for Red Dead Redemption 2, including first access to select online content. We’ll have more specifics to share there in the months ahead.

Thanks to @Fimo for the news tip in the PSXHAX Shoutbox earlier today! <3

PSVTools: PSV File Trimmer and Validation Toolset by Kageurufu
Last week we reported on the .PSV ROM Format followed by some PS Vita Decrypters, and recently PlayStation Vita developer @kageurufu made available PSVTools which is a Python .psv format manipulator and verification toolset to trim, restore and validate PSV files. :winkxf2:

Download: psvtools-0.1.0.tar.gz / GIT

To quote from kageurufu via Reddit: I'm officially releasing 0.1.0 of my psvtools suite.

Its open source, python 2.7 and 3.4+ compatible, unit tested, and I've been using for a few days now for my own backups: https://github.com/kageurufu/psvtools

There's not a lot there, but that's a good thing in my opinion.

To install, get python for your operating system. I believe OSX comes with 2.7 as of this writing. Most linux distributions include some form of python.
Code:
pip install psvtools
You'll get 4 command line utilities from this:
Code:
usage: psvtools [-h] [-t | -e | -v] [-o OUTPUT] file

positional arguments:
file psv file to operate on

optional arguments:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
-t, --trim Trim a psv file. This is the default behavior
-e, --expand Expand a trimmed psv file
-v, --verify Validate the checksum of a psv file
  -o OUTPUT, --output OUTPUT
                        output file to write to

usage: psvexpand [-h] [-o OUTPUT] file
usage: psvtrim [-h] [-o OUTPUT] file
usage: psverify [-h] file
I've rigorously tested these, and trimming and expanding should yield byte-identical output files.
