How to Get PS4 Game Updates on a 4.05 / 4.55 Jailbroken Console

Here's a handy guide covering how to get PS4 game updates on a jailbroken 4.05 OFW or 4.55 OFW console from PlayStation 4 developer @MODDEDWARFARE on his YouTube Channel via Twitter.

yes only in original bluray this method does not work on fPkg

Issue is I recorded the video a long time ago before the 4.55 Jailbreak and even the video I made on running backups. I had to cut new bits in to cover 4.55 and so the original video didn't take game backups into consideration.

So yeah I have added a note to the description and a pinned comment to say that this wont work with game backups and the video was never intended for that purpose.

thanks for the enlightenment, so is there another way to merge the updates ?

I have the file "UP1003-CUSA04493_00-PREYPS4FULLGAME1-A0100-V0100.pkg" and don't know if it was created with fpkg and would work on my ps4 with 4.55.

Will this allow me to install game updates, which require a higher system firmware? I want to install a Diablo 3 update which needs 4.7 , however I am on 4.55 - so can I install the update in this way and will it work?

PS. It's a Bluray copy - not backup

what exactly are you "backing up" if you don't own the original? I believe that is called something else entirely.

It works with backups. There is a scene group called GCMR who just released patch for Prey. I tested it and it works just fine with backed up Prey release.

dont install any patches it shows error any time

They most likely dumped the update because they had the disk, this method isn't for backups.
