Today Sony released their latest PS5 promotional video dubbed PlayStation 5 - Play Has No Limits... hopefully the price tag of the upcoming next-generation console does though. đź’¸

As the PlayStation 5 official Holiday 2020 launch draws near, we've seen the PS5 Tech Specs and Legacy Hardware Compatibility... but reports of Costly Parts leave fans wondering if the PS5 Price Predictions of $499 for a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition without a disc drive and $599 for a PS5 console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will end up being accurate or not.

Currently Sony's official PS5 Website and the designated PS5 Amazon Page aren't lending any clues on pricing yet, and from the latest video trailer's description:
Welcome to a new world of immersion. Discover haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D audio on PS5. PLAY HAS NO LIMITS.

Let us know in the PS5 Forums your thoughts on Sony's latest PlayStation 5 trailer video, and any last-minute PS5 price predictions before the inevitable reveal in coming months!

The fact that there are two versions of the PS5 and take 2 has announced $70 for their games. I honestly feel as if the players are going to be in for a rude awakening.

Wouldn't really call it a rude awakening; the same price increase happened with the previous generation of consoles. At the end of the day, Sony is a company, and it is beholden to shareholders/profit margins.

@Reason12 this is the first generation of where Sony chose to make two different versions it’s not like Sony pockets are hurting with over a 102million units sold.

Then let’s take in the fact of all the other technology they have being sold.Lets not forget its hard to find PlayStation cameras since they’re always being sold out.

Take 2 interactive has announced $70 for their games on next gen consoles so yes it quite will be a rude awakening when both companies are having record high sells.

@Overflowvibes I completely understand what you are saying, but generally speaking, when new console generations emerge, the prices almost always increase. Not saying it wont be a rude awakening, just simply stating that most consumers should have seen this one coming. So a little bit less of sticker shock for the vast majority of peeps.

@Overflowvibes I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with a price bump for next gen triple-A titles, but only to offset increased development costs. Games like Cyberpunk 2077 are totally deserving of being priced higher than $60 while games that release a refresh every single year like NBA 2K21 are not deserving of a price increase.
