Proceeding the 7.02 PS4 KEX, 6.72 PS4 Webkit Port, 6.72 PS4 Payloads and the 6.72 PS4JB Exploit today PlayStation 4 developer @MODDEDWARFARE returns via Twitter with PS4 Backporter v1.4 tool for backporting 6.72 to 5.05 FPKG Games alongside a new demo video below from his YouTube Channel and more updates!

This comes following the PS4 6.72 to 5.05 Backporting Tutorial, SELFUtil by Znullptr, PS4 RiPKiT/Modding/Cheat/BackPort Tool and EZ PS4 Downporter utility for backporting 6.72 games to run on 5.05 Firmware with a Jailbroken console.

Here are some PS4 Backporter v1.0.exe notes from his Tweets below:

• Still very much work in progress and has a few bugs. Will release a new version later. A known bug right now is that you can't set the output path to the root of the drive. If you do it wont save the final pkg file.
  
  
• Also won't work with EA titles right now. Due to all the extra patching that's needed to get those games working.
  
  
• Drag pkg file into "input pkg file". Click the button.

This tool includes and makes use of:

• Python Downgrade Scripts by Flat_z
• UnfSelf by @DimosGsxR
• gengp4 by XVortex

You must have installed:

• Python 2.7
• Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC

These are required for the tool to work correctly ^^^

@kylum no it just says 1.13 in update history as the latest. I was thinking that too @Baku86 ...will this prevent us updating higher versions in the future as the PS4 thinks they are already installed?

@baku if there is a version corisponding to that 1.14 I guess uninstall the backport file Using the uninstall patch option in pkgsender 1.2 like he shows in his video. Just got home and tried installing the update and backport patch. Didn’t work for me. What process did you use to get it working? FYI, no errors creating patch.

I didn't test it yet - no access to PS4 until Monday.
Did you try this install order?:
1. Game
2. Normal update 1.13
3. Backported patch for 1.13 (made by selecting original update and additional original main game file) - file is about 131 MB

Backported patch made this way should contain all necessary files converted to 5.05 from both main game and update at once

Just tested Red Dead Redemption 2 with Backport Patch.
Works fine. If I get the update v. 1.13 I will test it too.

@Baku86 exactly this but already had base package installed with backport patch so that might have been the issue. I’ll try again from scratch later tonight. Thanks for the reply

@Baku86 Installing a backport patch then trying to overwrite that with a non-backported game update will cause issues anyway. If you have a patch to install you should uninstall all updates with the remote pkg installer first. Then install your patch followed by your backported patch of that update.

• i uninstalled the base backport patch with pkg sender 1.2
• installed update
• installed update backport patch

This didn’t work gave and error when loading 3-xxxx. Not at home now to redo. Suggestions?

Here is the solution.

• On the first slot you put the update file.
• Then you uncheck the box rbellow it and it opens another slot where you select the main game.
• Then you press create a backport patch.

Copy all that to your HDD

• Now install the main game.
• Then install the update file.
• Then install the patch

and you're golden. Works on Sekiro, Control has some sort of Hen error, now trying RDR2.

Control and RDR2 are giving me same error CE-34878-0 about 5 seconds after the game starts. Unravel is also with a problem, it has audio but black screen.
