PS4 Firmware Update 4.50 (Codename Sasuke) Final is Live, Details

It's been a few months since their last PS4 OFW update which revealed an Unlimited PSN Gamesharing Hardware Method, and as expected today Sony officially moved the Sasuke 4.50 Beta 4 to a Final PUP release after some minor hiccups along the way!

We've covered most of the PlayStation 4 System Software 4.50 feature details already, noting some restrictions on the external USB 3.0 HDD.

We do know that PS4 4.50 Firmware patches Cyber Gadget's PS4 Save Editor, and also comes with version 2.40 of the PlayStation VR Firmware which includes support for 3D Blu-ray discs with the official changelog below:

Main features in version 4.50 update

• You can now use a USB storage device to install applications, or move applications from your PS4's system storage. The following USB storage devices can be used. Select (Settings) > [Devices] > [USB Storage Devices], select the connected USB storage device, and then format it for use as extended storage.
  • External hard disk drive
  • USB 3.0 or later
  • 250 GB minimum, 8 TB maximum capacity
• The quick menu is now more user friendly. Creating, joining, and other party features are even easier to access.
• (Notifications) has been redesigned. All notifications now appear in a single list.
• When using Remote Play on a Windows® PC, Mac, Xperia™ Smartphone, or Xperia™ Tablet, you can now use your device's microphone for voice chat in games or in parties.
• You can now use screenshots to customize the background of your home screen and function screen. Select (Settings) > [Themes] > [Select Theme] > [Custom].
• You can now post screenshots directly to activities, such as those shown in [What's New]. Press the SHARE button, select [Screenshot], and then select [Activities] as the upload destination.Also, you can now tag games and fellow players.
• You can now post animated GIFs to activities and social applications.
• Your status is now visible as (Mobile) when you sign in to an application such as (PlayStation App), even when you are away from your PS4 system. This means you are available to communicate with Friends.
• You can now make a party public or private even after the party has been created. Select (Party) > [Party Settings] > [Party Privacy].
• PlayStation VR now supports Blu-ray 3D™ content.

Other features in version 4.50

• The PS4 system you use to sign in to PlayStation Network for the first time is now automatically activated as your primary PS4 system.
• As a parent or guardian, you can now easily create sub accounts for your children when creating your master account.
• You can now upload or download saved data right from the home screen. Press the OPTIONS button, and then select [Upload/Download Saved Data].
• You now have the option to share screenshots on PlayStation Network. When sharing, you can also adjust privacy settings.
• You can now launch (SHAREfactory) right from (Capture Gallery). Press the OPTIONS button while viewing (Capture Gallery), and then select [Edit in SHAREfactory].
• You can now change the color of your profile screen to match the cover image. On your profile screen, select (Options) > [Change Cover Image] > [Change Background Color].
• When reporting inappropriate content, you can now preview your report before sending.
• The design of (PS4 Remote Play) for Xperia™ has been updated.
• When you receive a partyinvitation, you can now respond from (Messages) or (PS Messages) with a quick reply.
• Your profile screen cover image on your PS4 system is now displayed in (PS Messages).
• Cinematic mode image quality on PlayStation VR has been improved.

Rough translation: [PS4 Controller] We have confirmed that the patch code can not be applied correctly when updating the PS4 console to the latest system software "4.50." We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we are currently using the PS4 version editor When updating to "4.50", please do not update to "4.50".

4.50 bring problems to conect to wi-fi ???
Some users report that problem, some of them change the security from wpa to wpa2, but some of them say the problem is still there...

So, you only can connect to open networks.

Any report ???

If this is the case, i hope the exploit guys wait untill the patches come out and every problem are fixed.

While I mostly agree I still think the request for evidence is somewhat warranted. For the past couple years there have been hints of progress in the scene but nothing as ever come from it, yet there are those that remain hopeful that something will eventually transpire all the while being unable to fully enjoy their console for fear of updating. Firmware 1.76 and below, then 3.55, 4.06, now anything less than 4.50.

People are going to lose their patience and want to see something especially when waiting to find out if some exploit in beta made it through to the official release. All we've had to go on is people's words, and while I remain hopeful and grateful to those who spend their time working on something genuine, I can see why others' patience are wearing thing, especially when there's those in the scene that have been known to fake videos etc for just some gay attention whoring ego wank. Anything such as a "Sasuke " message or anything as small and trivial as that would be enough to put some people at rest but as of yet we've heard nothing, no wonder then some people act up.

Don't use that "these people don't owe you anything" bullcrap. So easy to turn peoples excitement into some kind of disrespect to devs. To frame others in the scene as some sort of greedy savages. They announced the exploit will be available to the public and everyone would just like to stay updated. Look at when the 4.50 software update was getting close to release.

Everyone kept asking Sony when it would be released. From twitter to playstation forums people were asking. People like to be kept in the loop. Its human nature. People have been waiting for years for this. Not everyone has the knowledge to be able to exploit software. So when something comes out that they can finally use people go crazy. But don't for a second think that people aren't grateful.

it is still present in 4.50 but wont be in next update they will be another update within a week fixing the wifi issue rest mode issue and the hole that will allow linux install... dont take my word for it tho just wait and see :0 go buy your games support developers the ps4 is a brilliant console as is ...putting linux and steam on it wont work great... there no sound.... poor fps...think about this...what would you do with linux on a ps4 you will need a usb sound card to hear anything... usb mouse.. keyboard...

no one i know would use a ps4 as a webserver the lesson of today folks is linux on your ps4 does not mean ps4 backups can be played it means poor pc games can be and when i say poor i mean games you prob never heard of within 2 hours of putting linux on your ps4 you would want your ps4 back to original which you wouldnt be able to do as they would be no way back or if they was your psn days would be over....
