While my Plex Media Server is still the primary place I watch TV Shows and Movies, proceeding the PPlay v3.8 Video Player Update PS4 PKG and his PlayStation 4 Magic USB pack @jose gozalez (aka josegar21481364 on Twitter) recently tested out making videos as PS4 PKGs and watching them on his Jailbroken PS4 console.

I was curious if you could make videos in PKG and I see that it is.

Advantages:

• The advantage is that you install it directly on the internal SSD without worrying about looking for a player.
• Install, run and delete the movie instantly.
• Your movies ordered on your PS4/PS5.

Disadvantages:

• I recommend it? NO, who watches movies on their PS4? LOL

Following the Elden Ring 9.03 PS4 Backport for 5.05 / 6.72 / 7.02 / 7.55 / 9.00 Firmware that hit the PlayStation 4 Scene last weekend, @CyB1K (Cyberpt1000 on Twitter) made available Sifu PS4 Update v1.06 (9.03) Fully Backported alongside confirmation from @opoisso893 (backport893 on Twitter) that Horizon Forbidden West will work on 6.72 and higher Firmware stating the size as, "About 81GB for base and updates between 1.8GB and 2.36GB (size of my rar files)."

When asked why an HFW PS4 Backport hasn't surfaced publicly yet, he replied in part, "Because I have only one word and I promised to not share it for the moment." which is understandable of course.

That said, both have made countless contributions in the scene and those seeking to support their continued efforts can do so via CyB1K's Ko-fi and opoisso893's Ko-fi.

Security Engineer Andy Nguyen (theflow0) will be speaking at the Hexacon 2022 offensive security conference held in Paris, France that runs from October 14-15th this year presenting a new attack vector and a firmware-agnostic ROP-less exploit on both PS4 and PS5 in his BD-JB: Blu-ray Disc Sandbox Escape talk at 17:15 (5:15 PM) on Saturday, October 15th.

This comes following his BD-JB PS4 / BD-JB PS5 presentation of the Blu-ray Disc Java Sandbox Escape (PDF) at the HardWear.io Conference 2022, which can be restreamed via HardWear.io's YouTube Channel with both a PS4 BD-JB Partial Reimplementation and PS5 BD-JB Partial Reimplementation resulting from PS4Scene / PS5Scene devs thus far alongside some developer hints.

While unconfirmed if this will indeed be the same presentation verbatim, @hyndrid optimistically speculates in the Tweets below that perhaps the KEX release was saved for this conference... although...
