PS4 Beta 5.50 Hits Testers, Features PS4 Pro Supersampling!
Many may recall the PS4 5.50 Beta Signups that Sony held last month, well this weekend kicked off the first version to official PS4 Beta testers who naturally leaked some details on it to the Interwebs as can be seen below. :winkxf2:

One of the big features thus far is PlayStation 4 Pro supersampling, which makes the PS4 Pro even sexier to those who don't have a 4K TV yet.

To quote from PSU.com on the details: "It means that when you run games that have a higher resolution than 1080p on your 1080p TV, the image will be better than it is right now following PS4 update 5.50.

The official description from this Polish screenshot (below) reads: Supersampling mode allows you to get picture quality comparable with 4K even when connecting PS4 Pro to a TV with a resolution of 2K or below.

The effect depends on the game- not every improvement will be noticeable. In some games, you can also reduce the frame rate per second."

Here's a partial changelog from PS4 v5.50 Beta testers via GearNuke.com, to quote:
  • You can now delete notifications that you received so they are no longer floating on the dashboard.
  • You can now hide games that you purchased in your library.
  • No longer beta/demo will keep taunting you as purchased games.
  • You can now turn on notifications through a shortcut once friends become available online.
  • You can enable an option that allows every game that runs at a higher resolution on the PS4 Pro to get supersampling down to 1080p.
  • You can now create Teams on PS4 for various social activities like participating in a Tournament or setting up a chat.
Cheers to @Denisuu for the news tip in the PSXHAX Shoutbox earlier today!
Qwertyoruiopz Drops PS4 Dev Hints, Enter Scene Group MarvTM & More!
Following today's Nintendo Switch Master Key leak and some previous updates of his, PlayStation 4 developer Qwertyoruiopz dropped some hints on Twitter that should aid hackers in exploiting the bug once code is written for newer PS4 Firmware consoles. :lovexf2:

@DarkElementPL on Twitter summarized the barrage of Tweets by stating, to quote "the bug he published is a bug that is exploitable up to 4.55 using webkit, and up to 5.0x using non-webkit entrypoint."

There's also a new PS4 scene group hitting topsites by the name of MarvTM recently, with some 4.05 releases including Assetto.Corsa.PS4.EUR.CFW.405-MarvTM, Battlefield.1.PS4.EUR.CFW.405-MarvTM, The.Order.1886.CFW.405-MarvTM, The.Order.1886.EUR.PS4.CFW.405.nfo.fix-MarvTM and Metro.Redux.Complete.CFW.405-MarvTM.

Those who recall the sample PS4 Shooting Game TestKit demo video that follow @cfwprophet on Twitter have seen it's now able to be successfully ran on 4.05 OFW with the package available below. :coolxf2:

Finally, a quick reminder that Recon 2018 is tomorrow, and while the talk itself will be innocent enough there are rumors that some 'from Russia with love' payloads may surface sometime afterwards. :ninjaxf2:

Sony Unveils PlayStation 4 Pro's First TV Spot Opera Video
Keeping in line with their principle that beautiful gameplay deserves beautiful music, today Sony unveiled PS4 Pro's first TV spot featuring... Opera. :biggrinxf2:

To quote from Sony PlayStation Marketing VP Mary Yee: We’re only a few weeks in, but 2018 is already off to a promising start with great new games like Monster Hunter: World, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Celeste, and – just around the corner on Feb. 6 – Shadow of the Colossus.

We’re especially interested to see how this year’s new batch of games is tapping into the power of PS4 Pro.

Monster Hunter: World is a perfect example, offering PS4 Pro players three separate rendering prioritization settings — Resolution, Framerate, and Graphics – which empower players to choose the heightened experience that’s right for them. All three modes are impressive in their own way, whether you prefer dynamic 4K rendering on your 4K TV, a super-smooth framerate, or increased visual detail.

Since PS4 Pro elevates your gaming experience, we wanted to similarly ‘elevate’ our new TV ad, our first for the console. Look out for Monster Hunter: World, along with God of War, Far Cry 5, and more featured in the new spot.

If you’re interested in reading more about games that take advantage of PS4 Pro’s capabilities, check out our guide here.
