PS4 Custom Home Menu UI Modding Database Information by eXtreme
Following his PS4 1.76 Permanent Internet Browser Mod, PlayStation 4 modder e✘treme returns with PS4 Custom Home Menu UI modding database information for those looking to modify the menu appearance of their console like ninjas! :ninja:

Also be sure to check out their downloads section and PS4 PKG Database which offers Sony PlayStation 4 Games, Apps and Themes in Package (PKG) File format.

From Extreme-Modding.de, to quote: Custom Home Menu – UI Modding – Database Infos

It’s just the beginning of a Custom Home Menu on the PS4. The Home Menu is a part of the User Interface and since the console is hacked, we are able to modify the Menu. Senaxx was the first Scener who showed a Custom Icon.

We can edit the Database with the DB Browser Tool to change Icons or the Title of installed Apps and a bit more atm.

If you have connected your PC via ftp to your 1.76 PS4, you will find the app.db in /system_data/priv/mms

The edit in the Database is limited but we can change a few things in the Menu like the title name, data path, visibility or category.

db1.jpg

You can change the data path of the preinstalled Apps by uploading a folder (for example CUSA22222) with Custom Icons in /user/appmeta/ and edit /system_ex/app/NPXS20110/sce_sys with the path.

If you want to remove Icons of installed Apps, you have to edit visible with 0. To show a App for example in TV and Video, you can edit category with gde.

db2.jpg

The edit of the title Id, remove Apps and change the category for Games does not work. Also you can’t add a new line to the Database.
Thanks to @VultraAID for sharing the news in the PSXHAX.COM Shoutbox yesterday!
Seeking Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Guru for HTTPS Assistance
Back in July we enabled Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption here on PSXHAX.COM, and while most modern OS's and browsers play nice with it a few older ones still produce handshake failure errors rendering the site inaccessible on those devices.

One such case was reported by @abzii running Windows XP with Chrome 49.0.2623.112 on his desktop PC, who stated he already has SP3 installed which is supposed to allow access to sites with SSLv3 disabled by the browser due to the POODLE Attack.

If anyone is knowledgeable with HTTPS / SSL protocol here, let this test run: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=www.psxhax.com&hideResults=on

Click on the results, and you'll see a few issues such as:
Code:
Android 2.3.7 No SNI 2 Server sent fatal alert: internal_error
IE 6 / XP No FS 1 No SNI 2 Server sent fatal alert: handshake_failure
IE 8 / XP No FS 1 No SNI 2 Server sent fatal alert: internal_error
Java 6u45 No SNI 2 Server sent fatal alert: internal_error
OpenSSL 0.9.8y Server sent fatal alert: handshake_failure
Comparing our cert to (for example) Xenforo's I notice the following difference only:
Rich (BB code):
Xenforo: TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256, 128 bit keys, TLS 1.2
PSXHAX: TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256, 128 bit keys, TLS 1.2
According to @abzii he can access Xenforo's site fine via PC, but has to access PSXHAX.COM from his mobile device.

Needless to say we'd like to get the SSL / HTTPS issue fixed for all browsers if possible... feel free to share any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, etc below or via the Contact Us page and we'll be happy to send a PayPal donation to whoever can sort it out for us. ;)
ZiL0G80 Hints on PS4 IDU Mode / E3Mode, FreeBSD Exploits Phrack'd
Recently @IvarKarl started a PS4 MEMLAYOUT topic for PlayStation 4 developers to collaborate in, while ZiL0G80 hints on the existence of a PS4 E3Mode in addition to the known IDU Mode from his Tweets below.

In May of this year he Tweeted about a mini PS4 Debug Settings menu, and when asked if it's working on PS4 3.55 developer David Ackerman said probably but stated he is currently on PS4 1.76 Firmware so hasn't tested it above that version.

Also awhile back Phrack Magazine authored a piece from BSDaemon on hacking the Cell Broadband Engine Architecture using a PS3, and now argp and karl did an article on Exploiting UMA: FreeBSD kernel heap exploits (Download: phrack66.tar.gz), which according to @Warfareexpert is derived from CTurt's documented FreeBSD work with recent findings including a FreeBSD Kernel Exploit alongside a FreeBSD Compatibility Layers Weakness Analysis.

besides idu mode there is something called e3mode on p$4 :)
