PS4 Pro Gets 4K Video Support with Latest Media Player Update
Today PS4 Pro users will be getting 4K video support on 4K compatible TV sets for MP4 format videos playable from USB sticks or home servers with the latest PlayStation Media Player update! :gigglexf2:

Here is the full scoop from Sony VP John Koller, to quote:

Starting later today, the Media Player app is getting an update to support 4K video playback on PS4 Pro. Following this update, 4K videos in mp4 format saved on a USB stick or home server can be played on the Media Player app (remember, you’ll also need a 4K compatible TV to watch the videos in 4K).

Your home server will appear as a media option in the Player automatically, so finding your media is simple and quick. Just a reminder: USB storage that’s already been formatted as extended storage for your PS4 can only be used to save games and apps — it can’t be used to save and play videos.

For those of you that own PlayStation VR in addition to PS4 Pro, Media Player will also update to support playback of 4K VR video content. PS VR’s display resolution is 1920 X RGB X 1080, so 4K VR videos will be displayed in a higher image quality compared to HD VR videos. Capture stunning 360 degree 4K footage, and then immerse yourself in that footage in VR at home — just as if you’re right back in the scene you shot.

And while on the topic of 4K, many of you have already been enjoying 4K streaming on PS4 Pro, but in case you weren’t aware, streaming video apps including Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu all have 4K content available, so make sure to check them out.
PS4Mono: DualShock 4 PS4 Controller Library for MonoGame by Mystborn
Recently developer Mystborn made available PS4Mono on Github, which is an open source DualShock 4 Library for using PS4 Controllers in MonoGame with details below. :smilexf2:

This news comes following a DualShock 4 Windows Guide, DS4Windows App Revision, DS4 PS4 Firmware Dump & Reversing Tools and DS4Lib USB Linux Library update.

Library for using PS4 Controllers in Monogame

To initialize the controllers, go to your game's initialize method and add this code:
Code:
PS4Mono.InputManager.Initialize(this)
Then in your game's update method go ahead and add this at the end:
Code:
PS4Mono.InputManager.Update()
That's all it needs to be set up. To actually use the code, call one of the various GampadCheck functions.
Code:
bool down = PS4Mono.InputManager.GamepadCheck(0, Buttons.A);

bool justPressed = PS4Mono.InputManager.GamepadCheckPressed(0, Buttons.A);
There's a special version of this that doesn't work on a frame by frame basis, so if you want to only check the buttons being pressed at the exact moment of time of the function call use:
Code:
PS4Mono.InputManager.GamepadCheckAsync(0, Buttons.A);
To set the deadzone used to check if the joystick is being held in a specific direction, you can set this property to a value between 0 and 1.
Code:
PS4Mono.InputManager.GamepadAxisDeadZone = value;
The program only looks for new controllers every 2 seconds, so dont expect your game to react to new input immediately. You can change this in the source code inside the...
PS4 Super Slim Rumored to be in Development by Sony
We're all familiar with the PlayStation 4, PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim consoles, but according to a report from Taiwanese newspaper DigiTimes an even thinner version of the PlayStation 4 is rumored to be in the works leaving many wondering if a PS4 Super Slim will join its PS3 counterpart in Sony's video game console lineup! :eek:

To quote: "In addition, Microsoft is also planning to release a new Xbox game console codenamed Project Scorpio and the product is expected to be announced at the E3 2017 event, targeting the year-end holiday season. Sony is expected to release a thinner version of its PlayStation 4."

Details on a PlayStation 4 Super Slim model are currently sparse, with no projected release date available.

According to PSU.com, to quote: "It's unclear whether or not this is a slim version of the PS4 Pro, or simply another iteration on the existing PS4 Slim SKU.

Either way, if the rumor holds any weight, we're likely to see it at E3 – possibly as a response to what Microsoft brings to the table with regards to new console hardware."

Here's to hoping more is revealed at E3 2017 this year, which runs from June 13-15th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. (y)
PS4 Root Mounted as Drive with Target Manager via 1.76 DevKit
Following the PS4 NMount Payload guide, PlayStation 4 developer @oneman123 shared news on Twitter that he has successfully mounted the whole PS4 Root as drive 'P' with Target Manager (instead of FTP) via 1.76 DevKit / TestKit. :thumbsupxf2:

Offsets for PlayStation 4 developers:

Code:
*(uint16_t *)0xFFFFFFFF825FCFE6 = 0x9090; //devkit
*(uint16_t *)0xFFFFFFFF825FD001 = 0x9090; //devkit

*(uint16_t *)0xFFFFFFFF82607E56 = 0x9090; //testkit
*(uint16_t *)0xFFFFFFFF82607E71 = 0x9090; //testkit
Below are some related Tweets as well, and a tutorial from notzecoxao with help from VVildCard777:

First of all, a note. this is for testkit and devkit consoles ONLY! We are working on a way to bring debug functionality to retail consoles, but it might take a while.

These are the patches:
Code:
*(uint16_t *)0xFFFFFFFF82607E56 = 0x9090;     //retail - testkit (doesn't work on retail yet, but offsets are the same)
*(uint16_t *)0xFFFFFFFF82607E71 = 0x9090;     //retail - testkit (doesn't work on retail yet, but offsets are the same)

*(uint16_t *)0xFFFFFFFF825FCFE6 = 0x9090;     //devkit
*(uint16_t *)0xFFFFFFFF825FD001 = 0x9090;     //devkit
Due to the nature of devkits, only hitodama's payloads work on them, so i'll provide one...
