PS5 DualShock 5 (DS5) Controller Images Surface in Japanese Patent
Following Sony's New Controller Patent, PS5 Devkit Prototype Leak and recent PS5 Transition Update in preparation for the PlayStation 5 2020 Launch today some PS5 DualShock 5 (DS5) Controller images surfaced from a Japanese Patent Office listing. 🎮

Below are the PS5 news findings from VideoGamesChronicle.com based on the recent patent discovery alongside a VGC mock-up of the PlayStation 5 controller design, to quote:

The patent specifically highlights a microphone, but comparison images posted online (via gofreak) show that there are many subtle design changes between the pictured controller and the DualShock 4.

One major improvement added to PS5's controller is “adaptive triggers,” which SIE says can offer varying levels of resistance to make game mechanics such as shooting a bow and arrow—the tension increasing as you pull the arrow back—feel more realistic.

The PS5 controller, which will switch to USBC for charging, also includes haptic feedback, with highly programmable voice-coil actuators located in the left and right grips of the pad.

Combined with an improved speaker on the controller, the haptics can enable “astonishing effects.” 😲

Shenmue III - The Story Goes On PS4 Launch Trailer
Sony Asks PS4 Players for Feedback Ahead of PS5 Launch Next Year
According to kasual7, Sony recently sent out a survey asking for feedback from PS4 players ahead of the PS5 Launch late next year. 🤔

The questionnaire states: Tell us about your time with PS4 - We want to hear from you so we can keep making things great For The Players.

We hope you've enjoyed exploring new worlds, competing against the best players online, teaming up with your friends and making new ones.

Personally I'd like to see Sony remove the ridiculous PS Plus time limit restriction for downloading newly added games. (n)

I understand the need for companies to stay with the times moving towards subscription-based services, but it's not cool to take away stuff that subscribers are continuing to pay for... the same absurd tactic Netflix is also guilty of. 🤬

:poll: As we didn't get a survey invite, let us know in the comments below a feature you would add, change or improve upon for PlayStation 5. (y)
Harsh Survival RPG Rust Launches on PlayStation 4 in 2020, PS4 Trailer
Video game developers Facepunch Studios and Double Eleven announced that the harsh survival RPG Rust on PC is slated to launch on PlayStation 4 in 2020 complete with a PS4 announcement trailer video below! 😲

Here's further details on Rust for PS4 from Facepunch chief Garry Newman via Double Eleven's Natalie Wicks, to quote:

Rust already has a huge following on PC. Why do you think players have connected with the game so much?

Rust is a harsh survival game. A dumb move and you can lose hours, days, weeks or progress. A smart move and you can advance your position on the island by weeks. It’s a game of huge risks and huge rewards.

When you start out you’re going to be the underdog. You have a rock and everyone else seemingly has an AK. You need to work your way up. This isn’t a linear path. You could find a fully loaded corpse and springboard from there. You could find a quiet part of the island to create a base and build up to that. You could get some friends and work together to rule the whole island.

I think this is why it’s so popular. Every time you die you want revenge, you want to try a different strategy.

Part of the joy of Rust is finding or hosting a regular map to play on– will PlayStation players be able to rent their own servers?

Definitely. It’s important for us to allow players to take ownership and configure their servers to their own preferences.

What are you most looking forward to when Rust releases next year?

Rust spawns a lot of stories. In other games you might be in a situation, a horse kicking an NPC in the face or something, but you know that everyone else has had that situation. Every Rust player I’ve ever spoken to in real life has these stories.

A guy once told me a story about how he fell down a pit with no way to get out. So he had this situation where he had to throw all his guns, clothes, and ammo one by one up in the air for his squad mate to catch and keep safe for him. He was laughing so hard telling the story that he had tears in his eyes.
