PS4 CUH-2200 New Model Revision Surfaces on Sony Japanese Store
While it's not an FCC leak this time, a new PS4 model revision CUH-2200BB01 was spotted on Sony's Japanese Store available in both a 1 TB version for 34,980 yen (around $311.20 USD) and a 500 GB version for 29,980 yen (around $266.71 USD). :unsurexf2:

Also incoming is a new PS4 Pro revision model CUH-7200BB01 that includes PlayStation logo stickers, which Japanese Bloggers state roughly translated is, "only a minor change aimed at cost cutting through the internal parts used."

According to DualShockers.com the new PlayStation 4 console's price, weight, size and power consumption specifications appear unchanged, who also stated the following to quote:

"This, alongside the fact that only the second digit of the model number was changed, indicates a minor revision in the internal components that is normally implemented to lower manufacturing costs.

This kind of minor change is unlike cases in which the first digit is altered, which usually indicate a major redesign. An example is when the original PS4 (CUH-1XXX) evolved into the slimmed-down version (CUH-2XXX).

When this kind of small revision happens, the new model normally filters to stores worldwide gradually, depending on stocks of the previous model and region. Regional models will show differences in the last two digits od their code."

Rough translation: The shipment of PS4 Pro (CUH-7200BB01) where the model number changed next week seems to begin. There's probably not much of a spec change. PS I have not yet been able to officially product page.
Access the PS4's Hard Drive (HDD) on 5.05 Guide by MODDEDWARFARE
This weekend @MODDEDWARFARE shared a video guide from his YouTube Channel via Twitter covering some handy things that can be accomplished with FTP on PS4 including how to add your own profile picture, edit your trophy summary, backup save games along with deleting and blocking updates on 5.05 jailbroken consoles. :coolxf2:

Since his PS4 Theme Creator guide, he's also recently detailed how to jailbreak a Nintendo Switch with free Custom Firmware (CFW) for everyone who owns one of those handheld video game consoles too. :gigglexf2:

PS4 5.05 Kernel Exploit Writeup Documentation by SpecterDev
As he did with the 4.05 Kernel Exploit and 4.55 WebKit Exploit, following the initial announcement and 5.05 Kernel Exploit release PlayStation 4 developer @SpecterDev has now made available via Twitter a writeup documenting his PS4 5.05 Kernel Exploit for others to examine and learn from. :notworthyxf2:

To quote from the PS4 5.05 BPF Double Free Kernel Exploit Writeup.md on Github, in part: Conclusion

Another cool bug to exploit. It should have been a trivial exploit, however Sony's new mitigation that prevents exploit devs from pivoting RSP into userland memory while in kernel context is quite effective, and some tricks had to be used to get the chain into kernel memory - but as demonstrated, it is beatable.

This exploit is also a good example of how double free()'s can be exploited fairly easily on FreeBSD if they're on an object of decent size.

Black Ops 4 Private Multiplayer PS4 Beta Incoming on August 3rd
Call of Duty fans get ready for the Black Ops 4 private multiplayer PS4 Beta arriving on August 3rd complete with specialists, maps, game modes and more details straight from Treyarch below. :fire:

To quote from their Director of Communications John Rafacz via PlayStation Blog on the announcement:

Today, we're excited to announce that there are two Betas on the Black Ops 4 horizon: a Private Multiplayer Beta in August, as well as a wholly separate Private Blackout Beta in September. PlayStation players will get the first access to the Private Multiplayer Beta starting at 10am PT on August 3, via an exclusive PS4 Beta Weekend.

The team at Treyarch is 100% committed to ensuring the best possible Day One gameplay experience, and the feedback generated from going hands-on will allow us to do just that – which is why we can’t wait to get the game into everyone’s hands.

Available to those who have pre-ordered Black Ops 4 for PS4*, the Private Multiplayer Beta will give the public a hands-on opportunity to enjoy grounded combat, fluid gameplay, our Pick 10 system, new Gear and Loadouts, as well as explosive tactical play. And that’s just scratching the surface! To better prepare you, here is some intel that should come in handy:

Specialists

Specialists bring special equipment and game-changing weapons into the fight. On a single team, each player will choose a specific Specialist:
  • Recon
  • Crash
  • Battery
  • Torque
  • Ruin
  • Seraph
  • Ajax
  • Firebreak
  • Nomad
  • Prophet
Specialist skills can be combined through tactical teamplay for creative and highlight-reel ready gameplay. Discovering unique and powerful ways to use the different Specialists’ abilities and weapons is one of many reasons to test out each of the Specialists during the Beta.

You can still be a Call of Duty badass on your own, but there is a great deal of power that can be unlocked when you combine talents to work as a team.

Modes & Maps

The Private Multiplayer Beta returns several fan-favorite game modes including Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint and Domination. Also, be on the lookout for Search & Destroy – the first time that the mode will be playable in Black Ops 4. The Beta will also offer participants a chance to experience the newest game mode: Control.

In Control, teams are tasked with either attacking or defending...
