Final Fantasy XV (FFXV) Character Object Models Decrypted & Extracted
Not long ago we shared a Playable Teaser PS4 Model Data & Textures Extraction Guide, and recently MrAdults unveiled some Final Fantasy XV (FFXV) character object models decrypted and extracted by DickWhitehouse of RichWhitehouse.com with the textures attached. :-D

According to the Noesis ReadMe file, as pointed out by chrrox, to quote: "Noesis converts and previews many data formats. You can get an idea of which ones by looking at the file type mask droplist on the face of the application."

Based on the Noesis ReadMe file it appears these are from PlayStation 4 rather than XBox One, but as NeonZed points out to quote:

"This game is only on Xbox One and PS4 and it's not publicly decrypted that's why it's hard to extract from the game. Their poses and expressions changes with bones rigged on them."

Whether these are indeed from the PS4 or XBone it's definitely cool stuff, and cheers to both harryoke and HydrogenNGU on Twitter for the heads-up! :beer: :beer:

PS4 GTA V Native Caller by 2much4u for Use with CTurt's PS4 ***
Last weekend we saw GTA V Simple Mod Menu v1.0 for PS4 1.76 from PlayStation 4 developer @2much4u, and today he returns via Twitter with a PS4 GTA V Native Caller for use with CTurt's PS4 *** and perhaps Hitodama's PS4SDK with more details below. :thumbup:

Brief Explanation

Setting Up Execution

The payload first escalates privileges using the dlclose kernel exploit. The kernel payload also disables ASLR for newly created processes, making it much easier to modify them. Afterwards, the browser payload constantly checks the running processes waiting for one called eboot.bin. Once a game process is found, the syscall ptrace is used to read and write to it. With ASLR disabled, the EBOOT always starts at 0x400000 in memory.

The payload reads a few bytes from the EBOOT to verify that the game is GTA V and to detect the region. The payload makes 3 edits to the EBOOT. Luckily, the EBOOT's main executable memory page has about 0xE000 free bytes at its end. Two functions are copied into that free space: a standard main function, nativeHook, and another for calling natives by hash, invokeNative. The last edit hooks the IS_PLAYER_ONLINE native to call the recently copied main function. After this, the browser payload exits.

PlayStation 4 Remote Play Updates by Twist3d89, PS4 Input Profiles
Following his previous updates, today Twisted shared an update via Twitter on his PlayStation 4 Remote Play application for Android which now features PS4 input profiles with details below. :geek:

To quote: A lot of you are asking how the next update is progressing so I decided to create a thread everyone can follow and see what has been completed and whats left to do.

Whats completed:
  • Implemented hardware decoding (still a few bugs to fix here but it works)
  • Multiple PS4 account support
  • Importing/exporting of PS4 accounts
  • Multiple PS4 management (for when there are multiple PS4's on the same network)
  • Log in system - No more serial Keys, you can log into the app using your forum details to unlock premium features
Whats left
  • Input system - I'm looking to improve mouse support which has required a total rewrite from scratch of the input system. Previously Lilypad (a 3rd party plugin) was used which besides having a massive code base introduced a lot of annoying limitations when trying to modify it to work with Remote Play. Starting from scratch is taking longer that initially expected but will help with Remote Play specific customisation ie. Touchpad input emulation. Below is an early look as the system, it's not complete and is subject to change but is massive upgrade over Lilypad with a user friendly interface for customising Remote Play specific controls.

  • Multiple players - related to the new input system, I'm looking to add multiple player support. I'll attempt to implement this once the input system is fully functioning.
  • Input profiles - This is to support multiple input profiles and allow easy switching between them whilst running remote play. Depending on time this may not make it into the next update as it's not critical and will be added shortly after.
  • Routed connection requests - currently port UDP 986 is required when connecting remotely, this is to allow the PS4 search request to receive a response. A lot of environments don't allow port forwarding such as work so I'll be adding a routing system to proxy PS4 connection requests and remove...
