With confirmation that the PS4 4.01 Ksploit has been reported to Sony and likely to be patched, PlayStation 4 developers have been researching the Chaitin Tech 4.01 PS4 jailbreak exploit's entry point in hopes to bring Linux to Firmware 3.50 through 4.01 among other scene advancements.
Check it out linked above, and to quote in part: "CVE-2016-1885 is not applicable to the PS4, Sony removed set_ldt after 1.76. Thanks to Red-EyeX32 for pointing this out."
Yeah, yeah... we know it wasn't working for a few weeks now, but since Sony updated their PS4 Firmware to version 4.05 it appears the passphrase changed and low and behold reports of users on 4.01 Firmware confirm it's now working again and they can connect to PSN without updating to v4.05!

Cheers to @mcmrc1 for the shout out in the PSXHAX Shoutbox and GAME ON PlayStation sceners!!
Following yesterday's PS4 4.01 Ksploit Demo and Sony's PS4 Firmware 4.05 security update, today Chaitin Tech of Chaitin.cn released a full version of their PS4 4.01 Jailbreak demonstrated at GeekPwn 2016... and confirmed due to contest rules they have reported the exploit used to Sony.
Needless to say, some PlayStation 4 developers including Rebug's @evilsperm are a little disappointed at this decision but in light of it as Wololo suggests if PS4 scene hacking groups have been using the same kernel exploit behind-the-scene they may now be willing to consider sharing them publicly.
Below are some hopeful innovations to come for PlayStation 4 sceners, including hints of a PS4 Rebug Custom Firmware (CFW) and multiMAN 4 (MM4) backup game manager... although at this time they just appear to be concept art and ideas so don't get too excited yet.
Stay tuned as we'll be doing a few follow-up articles on this covering details of the PS4 4.01 exploit believed to be used, and THANKS to @FimoHERE and @GrimDoe in the Shoutbox for the full Chaitin Technology Co., Ltd. PS4 FW 4.01 jailbreak video...
In the video they navigate their PS4 Web browser to http://chaitin.cn/ps4 which currently just shows their video instead of their 'Sony PlayStation4 Jailbreak' so hopefully more details on this PS4 jailbreak method will follow soon!
