Load HEN & Debug Settings Payload Using 4.55 Kernel Exploit without having to send payloads using NETCAT.

Summary

In this project you will find a full implementation of the "bpf" kernel exploit for the PlayStation 4 on 4.55. It will allow you to run arbitrary code as kernel, to allow jailbreaking and kernel-level modifications to the system. This release however, does not contain any code related to defeating anti-backups mechanisms or running homebrew. This exploit does include a loader that listens for payloads on port 9020 and will execute them upon receival.

This bug was discovered by qwertyoruiopz, and can be found hosted on his website here.

• Edit Payload With [PLAIN]HXD[/PLAIN]
• Find & Change IP Address from 192.168.88.87 to Your PS4 IP 192.168.xxx.xxx
• Save Payload
• Send Payload Using Netcat

nc.exe -w 3 `PS4IP` 9020 < PS4FTP.bin

• Open Filezilla & Connect to PS4

I read somewhere that updating from 4.05 to 4.55 rebuilds the database which would in turn make all installed fpkgs disappear. Is that true or are installed fpkgs safe when upgrading?

I'm trying to update to 4.55, but trying to update from PS4 Safe Mode gives me the error Cannot Access System Storage (CE-30778-5). The system functions fine when powered up normally. I could try reinitializing to see if that helps, but I'd rather not wipe the data, especially if I can't restore any backups properly and set up my account again.

Does anyone know how if I can get it to install normally from the thumb drive from System Update normally with the internet connection disabled and all updates deleted?

Not sure why I can no longer quote but I have VERY HELPFUL INFO. Vid inbound. For those that cannot install the 4.55 update. I could not either. Here was my problem.

I first tried to install the update with very little space remaining. This is a no no. Free up some space people. Don't be stupid like me. Then I was kinda scratching my head. To make matters worse I think sometimes the update gets corrupted when you download it. So make sure you check hash. Now if you do what I did NO UPDATES will install. Won't matter if it's the small or big one.

So what do you do? When the update failed due to lack of space remaining (sony whatup with a disc check homey?) then an empty folder is created. This folder MUST be deleted via FTP before another attempt or EVERY future attempt will error out. I too could not access system storage via recovery. I simply use xmb with update placed on USB. I am now happily on 4.55 and everything is working. I did not lose my files but my database had to be rebuilt.

I hope this information helps others! I will post a video to where I show my experience updating and the errors and what my screen looked like once it worked. You must first deleted the update blocked files with FTP and then you can updated to 4.55.
