Hello World! I've been reporting on Sony PlayStation hacking news since 2000 and started PSXHAX in 2014 to cover PlayStation (PSX), PlayStation 2 (PS2), PlayStation 3 (PS3), PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation Portable (PSP), PlayStation Vita (PS Vita), PlayStation TV (PS TV) and next-gen PlayStation 5 (PS5) platforms along with anything else of interest.
Click on my UserName author link above and you'll be able to view a curated list of all the articles I've contributed thus far to PSXHAX.COM!
As always DON'T UPDATE if you wish to use PS4 game backups and homebrew apps when a new jailbreak exploit arrives, and we'll add any related Tweets below as PlayStation 4 scene developers have a chance to examine it.
Perhaps there's hope for PS4 after all, as Sony mysteriously announced the removal of Facebook integration on PlayStation 4 effective today... good riddance to the ad, drama and big brother activity monitoring infested social media application and here's to hoping other platforms follow suit.
This is the official confirmation directly from PlayStation Support, to quote:
Starting on October 7th, 2019 Facebook integration will no longer be supported on the PS4 system. This includes Facebook’s share features such as posting gameplay and trophy activity and using the friend finder feature. We apologize for any inconvenience.
What this means for you:
PlayStation 4’s share features will remain the same, except Facebook will no longer be offered as a destination to share screenshots, videos, music, trophy details, or links to gameplay broadcasts.
Users will no longer have the ability to link their Facebook account to their PlayStation Network account. This means Friends List features, such as adding friends from Facebook will be removed.
Profile pictures imported from Facebook will no longer be used. We recommend selecting a new picture for PlayStation friends to identify you. There are multiple options for changing your profile picture on PS4 to an Avatar or image of your choosing.
On PS4, go to [Settings] > [Account Management] > [Account Information] > [Profile] > [Profile Picture]
Alternatively on PS4, you can select your Profile from the Function area. Click on the [...] button to the right of [Set Online Status]. Then [Edit Profile] > [Profile Picture]
You can also upload an image in the PlayStation App from your mobile device
Today Sony officially unveiled a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PS4 Pro 1TB Bundle that will launch for $399.99 USD alongside CoD: MW on October 25th.
Here are the details from Sony Global Marketing VP Mary Yee, to quote:
As we count down the days until the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the sixteenth installment of the epic series, we are thrilled to reveal a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PS4 Pro bundle launching alongside it on October 25.
Arriving just in time for the holiday season, this new bundle features a jet-black 1TB PS4 Pro system, alongside a matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, and a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on Blu-Ray Disc.
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare the stakes have never been higher, as players take on the role of lethal Tier One operators in a heart-racing saga that will affect the global balance of power.
Players can also enjoy a variety of gameplay options, ranging from a visceral and dramatic single-player story campaign, to classic multiplayer, or cooperative play through a collection of elite operations accessible to all skill levels.
With PlayStation 4 Pro, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans can look forward to a number of features to help bring the most photorealistic environments in franchise history to life.
4K TV owners will appreciate 4K resolution using temporal anti-aliasing with dynamic up-sampling, while HD TV players will benefit from increased image clarity through supersampling when playing on PS4 Pro, compared to PS4.
Lastly, players with HDR displays can enjoy grounded combat and fast-paced action with high dynamic range color as well.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PS4 Pro Bundle will be available on October 25 at select retail stores across the US and CAN for $399.99 USD (MSRP) / $499.99 CAD (MSRP).

Following their PS4 6.72 OFW Update and several PlayStation 4 Beta Updates, as expected this week Sony is officially releasing the PS4 Firmware / System Software 7.00 Update which among other lackluster features such as Party and Remote Play enhancements will likely 'improve system performance' by including even more security fixes.
If you haven't done so already, be sure to get Verified so that you can access the private or restricted areas for the latest FPKGs that are added as they become available.
Here's further details straight from Sony Content Communications Senior Director Sid Shuman, to quote:
Our latest software update for PlayStation 4, version 7.00, is launching this week worldwide. This update includes new functionality to key system features including Party and Remote Play features.
We revealed a number of features included in the newly enhanced Party prior to its beta earlier this summer, and here are all of the details that PS4 players can look forward to experiencing.
