While it doesn't require the Beta PS5 Firmware Update rumored to arrive by the end of this month, in PlayStation 5 News today according to several reports including GamingIntPhoto1 and Okami13_ on Twitter some regions are now able to upload videos and screenshots directly to PlayStation App as Sony gradually rolls out the feature.

To quote from WhatIfGaming.com: "Previously, one would have to make a burner PSN account and send the image or clip to that account which can be accessed on the PS App, or set up a Twitter account, but now those days are behind, at least for PS5 users.

According to a Reddit thread, this is a slow rollout, so if it is not out for your region yet, give the feature a couple of days. One thing is for sure, you don’t need a firmware update for the feature as many people are reporting that they got it without a firmware update."

Proceeding Hippie68's PS4 Dump Scripts, CyB1K's PS4 Fake PKG Tools 3.87 V5 update and his PPSA PS4 DLC Unlocker modification PS4Scene developer @codemasterv (aka @mogicodemasterv) let us know he recently updated his Github repository with an FPKG Maker GUI for PlayStation 4 Base Game / Patch / DLC / Keystone files via PS4 FPKG Tools alongside a demo video of it in action.

It currently supports CUSA, STRN, SNES, HMBW, SLUS and NPSX Title ID prefixes and can dump any running app / PSXtoFPKG / PS2toFPKG / STRNtoFPKG / Homebrew / NPSX with some brief usage notes from the README file below:

• You need to be on Windows 10 or preferably Windows 11 with its more simplified Windows Subsystem Linux. Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7 will not work with this tool.
• All fields need to be filled out before the patch will build properly, meaning fill out the base game information first before trying to build the patch for the base game.
• Using DLC Unlocker: To use this unlocker tool go to the PlayStation store and find your DLC. Copy the link in your link bar and paste it into the text box below the example link and click build. This will output the file to the directory in the log window:

Last summer a Sony NpCommerce API app dubbed PXG4: PS4 Full Game Standard Disc Game Test 4 used as a placeholder for early PS4-to-PS5 Upgrade testing from the PS4 / PS5 DevKit surfaced briefly on PlayStation Store before being removed by Sony... and earlier this month the PXG4 PS4 FG Disc Game Test 4 Entitlement (CUSA24837 Prod) PKG was leaked via Reddit (Cached Page) for those interested in examining it.

Earlier this month a USPTO Patent from PS5 / PS4 Lead System Architect Mark Evan Cerny by Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC outlining Backward Compatibility Through Use Of Spoof Clock And Fine Grain Frequency Control surfaced via shaunmcilroy which may resolve their ongoing backwards compatibility issues.
