Mini Motor Racing X Races to PS4 and PlayStation VR Next Week
Next week the arcade-inspired racer Mini Motor Racing X speeds to both PS4 and PlayStation VR on December 17th adding weapons, co-op and classic features including Mini Motor career mode, dozens of cars to unlock and upgrade, four championships to master and a new Type-X mode! 🏎 🏁

Check out the Mini Motor Racing X PS4 / PS VR gameplay trailer video and further details below from The Binary Mill Community Manager Jason Spencer, to quote:

If you’re new to the series, Mini Motor Racing (or MMR as we call it, unless we’re trying to pad the word count) is a top-down arcade-style racer made from the gaming DNA of classics such as Super Off Road, RC Pro-AM, and Micro Machines.

You race your car in a helter-skelter boost-fest across dozens of different maps, earning cash prizes which you can use to upgrade your cars or unlock new ones. It’s simple, fast, and fun, like the arcade games our developers and many of you grew up with.

MMR X brings a whole lot of new content to the franchise, so we figured the best way to cover it quickly is in the time-honored tradition of the listicle. So here, without further ado, are the top five new additions in Mini Motor Racing X!

Type X Combat Mode

Finally! The most frequent questions we’ve gotten over the years are always along the lines of “Where are the weapons? Why can’t I have weapons? When are you going to add weapons?” Well, here’s your answer.

Type X mode lets you play through the entire game with the addition of some wildly destructive weapons. Heat-seeking rockets, unpredictable wrenches, shields, mines, even tornados!

And believe me, the feeling of wiping out a friend with a well-timed spanner bounce is satisfying beyond words. But fear not, the beloved original weapon-free racing remains in tact with its own “classic” career and modes.

Virtual Reality

At this point it’s trite to say VR adds a whole new dimension to a game, but danged if it ain’t true! Looming over the track like a god adds a wonderful sense of perspective, and really drives home the ‘mini’ in Mini Motor Racing.

And if looming ain’t your jam, VR lets you jump right onto the car with a hectic first person perspective. Get up close and personal with the world and your competitors, enjoy the thrill of destroying them with a...

Resident Evil 3 Returns to PlayStation 4 on April 3rd, 2020
In the footsteps of Resident Evil 2 on PS4 comes Capcom's return to Raccoon City in Resident Evil 3 arriving on PlayStation 4 next April 3rd, 2020! 🦝

Here are some RE3 PS4 screenshots alongside the Resident Evil 3 announcement PS4 trailer video from yesterday's PlayStation State of Play 2019 with additional details by Producer Peter Fabiano below, to quote:

Survival horror fans need no introduction to this true PlayStation classic, and for those who have never seen Jill Valentine’s desperate escape from Raccoon City but played Resident Evil 2 earlier this year, you’re in for one terrifying treat.

If you thought RE2’s Tyrant was frightening, you’re in for a whole new kind of fear when the relentless Nemesis drops in with only one mission: to ensure Jill Valentine never sees daylight again.

September 28th, Daylight

Taking place a few months after the original Resident Evil ends, Resident Evil 3 takes place both before and after the events of Resident Evil 2. While Leon and Claire’s stories occur after the city has already been infected for some time, Jill’s story provides a new perspective.

Starting with the early days of the outbreak, you’ll follow Jill’s fight for survival as the population of the once-lively metropolis turns into hordes of undead.

Despite providing a thorough report on the Umbrella Corporation and the incident at the Arklay Mansion a few months prior, Jill’s investigation has largely been swept under the rug. Even though she’s been suspended from the police force, Jill is still on a mission to bring the truth to light.

To do that, however, she first has to escape with her life and her investigation in tow. Setting out to put the wreckage of the city behind her once and for all, Jill runs headlong into one giant problem that all of her training and her harrowing experiences in the Arklay Mountains couldn’t prepare her for...

An Ordinary Day in Raccoon City

Nemesis. Those of you who have played the original Resident Evil 3 remember this monstrosity on a mission, and...

Redbox Video Game Rentals to End This Year, Game Sales by Early 2020
As GameStop reported massive financial losses and announced the closing of more stores this year, it appears Redbox is getting out of the video game rental business by the end of 2019... they'll continue to sell any remaining games through early 2020 although many have confirmed their local kiosk only has a few games left with an option to buy not rent. 😕 :nolove:

Redbox will now focus exclusively on movies according to TheVerge.com via IGN.com, to quote:

"In a statement to The Verge, a spokesperson reiterated that Redbox will be 'permanently transitioning out of the games business,' but will still allow customers to purchase remaining games 'through the end of the year.'

With Redbox being an inexpensive method for many gamers to test out new titles, closing their video game rental service will leave one less option for players to test out games ahead of purchasing them."

As there's only one Blockbuster Video left in the world located in Bend, Oregon, perhaps rippers will transition to GameFly or alternative online video game rental services... I still recall when some scene group suppliers were Blockbuster Video store employees. :sneaky:
