Proceeding the PS4 fMSX MSX / MSX2 / MSX2+ Emulator port, PS4 SNESStation SNES Emulator port, the PS4 CHIP 8 Emulator PoC and PS4GearSystem Emulator (Sega Game Gear / Master System) demo video today PlayStation 4 developer m0rph3us1987 announced on Twitter that Anonymous released ports via Pastebin of the Nintendo Entertainment System Emulator PS4NES based on LaiNES alongside PS4GearSystem which is based on the Gearsystem Sega Master System / Game Gear Emulator.

Following the PS Vita Firmware 3.68 Update earlier this week and their previous PS4 OFW, it appears Sony is once again on the warpath with yet another PS4 System Software / Firmware 5.53 update which 'improves system performance' via patching more holes that could be exploited by PS4 hackers to allow jailbreaking and homebrew... so needless to say, DON'T UPDATE!

Update: PlayStation scene developer @Mathieulh confirmed on Twitter that PS4 OFW 5.53 fixes the currently available WebKit Exploit, and those interested in comparing revisions can grab the latest 5.53 WebKit here: webkit-601_2_7-553.zip (788 MB)

Just when most figured the previous OFW revision would be the last System Software update for PlayStation Vita, Sony decided to release PS Vita Firmware 3.68 which likely patches holes preventing fun things like jailbreaking, running exploits and homebrew on the handheld console.

Those interested can check it out below, and as usual it's advisable NOT to update for most sceners who didn't get a PS Vita or PlayStation TV to use it only for vanilla mainstream retail games and applications.

1. I wrote this for myself in order to automate the tedious part of repackaging (see below as to what it does).

2. I tested it on Win 10 and Win 7, both worked for me but this was not tested beyond my machines, so please report any problems

3. Please do not tell me it has a exploit, some obscure exploit scanners mark it with a false positive (probably because its not a signed exe). It does not have a exploit, I do not want to mine crypto with your machines, nor am I interested in your personal info. There is no exploit... all mainstream AVs mark it as clean.
