PS4 CFW and Hacks

Previously we reported on a Kodi / XBMC Media Center Skin PS4 Theme and a PS2 Legacy Dashboard Dynamic PS4 Theme, well today following the PS4HEN Homebrew Enabler release a variety PS4 Custom BGM (background music), Wallpaper and Animated Themes in the form of PKG files for PlayStation 4 v4.05 have surfaced from PlayStation 4 developers, modders and PS4 *** leak miners alike!

Most notably thus far, @yyoossk (Twitter) shared a PS4 custom theme sample PKG and demo video (below) on his YouTube Channel where he states in the video's description that a tutorial will be coming soon on his blog at Yyoossk.BlogSpot.jp.

Other developers including @0x199 (Twitter) and @LightningMods (Twitter) also shared some Custom PS4 Themes for 4.05 OFW which can be found with their related Tweets below along with a bunch more on the PSDevWiki.

Following his Fake PKG Generator, today PlayStation 4 developer @cfwprophet made available on Twitter a Make FSELF GUI (Graphical User Interface) for Flat_z's make_fself.py Script (recently updated) to fake sign PS4 ELF files.

The authinfo.txt can be used as an editable Make Fake SELF GUI Data Base File template, and should be placed in the same directory as the executable file.

To quote from the ReadMe.txt file: Make_FSELF_GUI

A Graphical User Interface for flat_z make_fself.py script.

• Can use a database for the authentication information.
• TreeView.
• Batch Mode.
• Use dynamical Paths for the script and for the db.
• You can also drop the db or the .py script onto the app and it will save the paths.
• Simple and Advanced mode.
• Can hexify the Auth Info. (Not that this would be anything important, just for fun ^^)
• Has Context Menus.
• Remember Paths.
• Can Drag And Drop.
• Error Output of the .py script is redirected.

You can add your own keys to the DB and the according fw, simple by adding two new tags like this:
Make sure to have the Authentication Information in one Block without spaces and non Hexifyed. So no '0x'.

Black Ops 3 PS4 Mods (4.05 Jailbreak) via MODDEDWARFARE

Following their PS4 APP.DB Mods and PS4 UI Mod Alpha 0.16 updates, the PlayStation 4 modders at e✘treme-Modding.de recently shared a NOTIFICATION.DB modification to open Settings via a custom notification... and see here for the PS4 4.05 System Notification Types.

To quote from their blog, roughly translated: Custom Notification – Command via Notifications

You can modify the Notifications on 4.05 to call other entries. In this example I will show you how to open the Settings via custom notification.

First you need the notification.db (same directory as app.db). You find the action_uri of each tip which can be modified, so the command to open the Settings is: pssettings:play?mode=settings


Now you can open Settings via a Notification

Maybe we find a way to modify the Capture Gallery to open the Debug Settings with such a custom command.
