NES Games on PS3 SuperSlim OFW Using Disc Swap Trick Guide
Hello guys!

If you have the same perversion as me you might like to play NES games from time to time. If you have a PS3 with CFW this is not an issue. But if you are stuck on OFW and you have a PS3 superslim you can still get a NES emulator to work.

For this method you will need:
  • A PS3 superslim with its disc sensors blocked
  • An original PS1 game
  • An empty CD-R
  • A CD burning software of your choice (I recommend IMGBurn as its free)
  • Some NES roms of your choice
  • And lastly the emulator package imbnes-1.3.4-winbin.zip
So first of all download the software needed for this little project. Then extract it to a folder where you will find it.

After extracting the emulator open "rombank.exe". After that in the upper left corner click the button that's showing a chip with a folder behind it to add a folder of NES roms to your backup.

Make sure all the roms are in a main folder not in subfolders. After you added the roms you wanted go to the "ROM Filters" and click the two buttons on the right to remove unsupported roms.

If you have done all this click the button under the text that says "Build IMBNES ISO". It will ask if you to choose the license for the disc. This should be identical to your original PS1 game's. (I'm not sure if the PS3 has region locking for PS1 games so its better to stay safe.)

If you are done with all this all you have to do is click the Build ISO button. It will take 2-3 minutes to build the iso. After that you burn this iso to an empty disc like you would do with a PS1 backup.

If your disc is finished and your sensors are blocked start your PS1 with your original disc in the PS3, then after the PS logo you switch the disc with the one you just burnt. In the menu choose your game and start it by pressing start. If you want to change the game you're playing press the PS button on your controller and choose restart game.

Update: It turns out that you can actually go back to the menu without having to reboot the game you just have to press L1+R1+start+select.

:stop: PLEASE BE WARNED THAT PROLONGED USE OF THIS TECHNIQUE CAN AND PROBABLY WILL DAMAGE YOUR SPINDLE MOTOR AND LASER :stop:

This is probably not the best way to play NES games on your PS3 but...

PS4 Reballed by Vyktormvmpay25, Seeking Devs to Compare Dumps
We've seen PlayStation 4 hardware mod projects including UniversalFlash with a Glitch Pinout, a PSN Gamesharing Hardware Mod followed by a cheap Dump Programmer and recently video game console modder vyktormvmpay25 shared pictures of his first reballed PlayStation 4 console inviting developers interested in examining and comparing the PS4 dumps to contact him. <3

For PS4 hardware modders, previously professional console service shop Virtual Future shared a gallery documenting the PlayStation 4 reballing of Sony's APU CXD90026G BGA chip by Spox_2 as well.

To quote: "This is my first PS4 reballed and I intend to make a few tests and if any developer interested to mod/modifications to dump just sent me an pm and will give this dump for experiments and test.

I have 5 blank eproms atm for it and interested to make many tests. ATM just finished my work with reball and will try to make this dump first. Don't own an controller ATM but will get it soon."

Check out the pictures below alongside some PS4 BLOD Repair videos via the Dev Wiki that detail the reballing of the PS4 APU CXD90026G BGA chip from consumer electronics repair shop Advanced Reworks and rework...
SceNpTrophySignature Inside PS4 Decrypted ESFM Trophy Files Guide
Here's a guide from PlayStation 4 developer @RedEyeX32 covering SceNpTrophySignature which is located inside PS4 Decrypted ESFM trophy files such as TROP.ESFM.

Download: SceNpTrophySignature.rar (83 KB)

This comes since we've seen a PS4 Trophy Resigner Makefile, Resigning PS4 Trophies Tutorial, PS4 Trophy Modding Guide, Modding PS4 Profile Trophies Demo and most recently PS4 Trophy Data Decryption Keys.

To quote from Red-EyeX32 on NGU: Hello NextGenUpdate, I was really curious and bored and decided to tinker with SceNpTrophySignature stored inside decrypted ESFM (trophy) files, specifically TROP.ESFM from Call of Duty: MWR that I released on Twitter.

The first thing I did was get the Sce-Np-Trophy-Signature tag inside the decrypted file, and created a new file and converted it to hex.

The output should be looking similar to this (will change on different file of course):

PS4 Jailbreak Exploit by Chaitin Tech Echoes via SpecterDev
Many may recall the PS4 Firmware 4.01 Jailbreak by Chaitin Tech, their ROP Tool and the addition of Kaslr Support last year.

Following his PS4 4.0x WebKit Userland Exploit Documentation, JailbreakMe PS4 3.5x / 3.70 / 4.0x Exploit Ports and continuing research PlayStation 4 developer SpecterDev shared a tweet earlier today echoing Chaitin Tech's PS4 kernel exploit on 4.05 that was disclosed to Sony and patched in 4.06 official Firmware this past November.

The news comes after qwertyoruiopz's PS4 4.50 Kernel R/W Access announcement, PS4 4.5x Pwnage and confirmation of PS4 4.55 Dumped.

While @SpecterDev already stated he can't release it and as a result decided to remove the tweet, at least PS4 Developers who have been collaborating and examining it can rest assured that Chaitin Tech and Sony aren't the only ones privy now... here's to hoping someone else will also run across it and decide to share it with the scene.
