I took this device handler and re-wrote it as things were broken with it.

Pre-requisites
  • ps4-waker w/ a REST wrapper for it. I used PS4 Waker Rest but made tweaks to it. I'll post up those changes soon.
Features
  • Control PS4 power (on/off)
  • Control up to three (3) games (start/switch)
With this you will be able to control the PS4 power and start/switch games with the SmartThings app.

You will be able to have Alexa/Google Home/Haromony Hub power on/off your PlayStation but cannot use voice...

Here is a new update of the Mednafen .cfg file, adding some new features.

Indeed, in a previous news, I spoke about the incompatibility of 3 platforms that are the Virtual Boy, the WonderSwan and WonderSwan Color, due to their rather particular controller and therefore hard to configure on our PS4 controllers, but this concern is now settled.

This update now supports PS4 controllers for these 3 platforms, so you can play Virtual Boy and WonderSwan / WonderSwan color games.

But that 's not all, I also add the support of 4 controllers for each consoles, you multiplayer games as Bomberman 4 players.

If you're new to the PlayStation scene or unaware, CEX typically refers to a retail console whereas DEX designates a Developer (Debug / Test) unit or the features thereof such as Debug Settings.

According to the Tweets below while DEX loads on boot a HEN is still required, but as mentioned most newer PS4 games contain a higher software development kit version so they won't work on a 5.05 console meaning the wait continues for a Future PS4 Jailbreak Exploit... and to quote from...

The ps4_ioctl_nabber.py Python script saves the PlayStation 4 input/output control (IOCTL) requests to an output file for PS4 scene devs to examine.

Nintendo 64 (N64) PS2 on PS4 Emulator Port Demo via Markus95
Over the holiday we saw a True Crime: Streets of LA PS2 FPKG for PS4, and following his PS4 Mednafen 2-Players Config Mod PlayStation 4 scene developer @Markus95 (aka @Kus00095) shared on Twitter a Nintendo 64 (N64) PS2 on PS4 Emulator Port demonstration video with details below proceeded by a Super Mario 64 (SM64) Native Port PS4 PKG. :bananaman14:

Based on the DaedalusX64 Nintendo 64 Emulator Github fork, belek666 also shared a daedalusps2.zip (34.2 MB) Daedalus PS2 binary stating: Put files/folders on root directory of mass, looks for roms in 'Roms' directory.

According to the Tweets from Markus00095 below, N64 PS2 on PS4 works but has issues since the only solution is to use mc0: (8 MB max) for games as mass: (USB) isn't enabled just cdfs: or mc0/mc1.

As a result of his tests he currently has no plans to release a N64 PS2 on PS4 PKG... however, those interested may want to experiment with the Daedalus.elf PS2 binary using the previously released PS2 ELF Loader for PS4 (PS2 Loaders) in the meantime.
