PS4 CFW and Hacks

Earlier this month we saw an All Clients Black Ops 3 (BO3) Zombie PS4 RTM Tool by PlayStation 4 homebrew developer @MrNiato, and today he shared on Twitter a PS4 Android Application to Mod BO3 1.00 using Firmware 5.05 complete with source code and a Black Ops 3 demonstration video of it in action below.

According to the demo video's description from his YouTube Channel and the README.md, he notes: Android-PS4-BO3-1.00-APK

This an APK to mod BO3 1.00 on PS4. You will need to inject the RTE payload by yourself before connecting the PlayStation 4. Maybe I will add it on an other version.

Following the DJI Tello Drone and DeepRacer RC remote control PS4 DualShock 4 mods, recently Veilkrand on Github shared a Simple Wireless Rover for Raspberry Pi Controlled by PS4 DS4 via WiFi for exploration and race hobby enthusiasts.

Kickstart Guide

1. Install Adafruit Motor Hat in Raspberry Pi

2. Start server in Raspberry Pi
3. Start the client on a remote machine

Connect game controller to remote machine. Configure the correct server IP on client and run python3 client.py on the remote machine.
Use the --python2 or -y option to use the pickle protocol 2 to be backward compatible with Python2 (e.g. for ROS).

4. Control

• L2: Forward
• R2: Backward
• Right pad: Spin left or right

Hardware

• Raspberry Pi 3 with Raspbian Jessie.
• Adafruit Motor Hat: https://www.adafruit.com/product/2348
• 4x 5-12V DC gear motors.
• 12V battery pack for motor power
• USB based battery pack for Raspberry Pi 3

Files

• client.py UDP client that will connect the first game controller and start sending data to a predefined ip and port.
• robotServer.py UDP server to receive the remote game controller inputs and move the rover.
• GameController.py Class to handle the bluetooth PS4 game controller.

Proceeding the PS4 DLC, Games, Updates & Themes Guide by @AluPL (aka TheRadziu on Twitter) today @Backporter shared via Twitter a PS4 Retail Theme Unlocker Windows GUI front-end (PS4-Retail-Theme-unlocker.exe) for use with TheRadziu's ez_fake_dlc.py Python script (Guide) to create the resulting PlayStation 4 Theme Unlocker PKG.

I'm back just to bring a bit of info on MK X/XL work that I have been working off and on with, since my MK9 KE PS3 RTM Tool and last PS4 Partial & Full mesh swap mods on MKX/XL.. Big Thanks to Life and Death.

This time around I have managed to actually change the appearance of a Fighter. Not by much, This is still real early doe, I would also like to say a Big Thanks to DKDave for his help on this.

This is still early work I am experimenting with, hope to have something out for ya'll sometime soon?

With testers currently running PS4 Firmware / System Software 7.00 Beta 5 it won't be long (about two weeks) before Sony unleashes the next OFW update, and proceeding his PS4 PKG Tool GUI homebrew application PlayStation 4 scene developer @pearlxcore (Twitter) updated his Github repository with PS4 Firmware Checker revision 2 to check the latest Recovery and System Software versions.
