Recently Grand Theft Auto V modder XB36Hazard updated his GTA V Save Editor to include XBox 360, PC, PS3 and PS4 gamesaves in SAV / SGTA formats adding support for PlayStation 4 decrypted saves as of version 2.3.0.0 with a PS4 Packer also available that utilizes SaveWizard's API.
Based on their recent Tweets it appears Save Wizard is planning to introduce several new features to their application directly, which isn't surprising as PS4 Developers have also made progress with savegames in recent months so here's to hoping we see some free / open-source PlayStation 4 save editors in the pipeline from sceners.
Below are some additional details from XB36Hazard on Discord via @Bultra about his recent updates, to quote:
"Each user/device id for 'Save Wizard' can only edit 4 PSN accounts. You can change theses accounts every month. Save Wizard checks for the profile id when save is uploaded, if its not on the valid list then the save is denied.
If there is another way to decrypt/encrypt PS4 saves for V you can still use my save editor for free. Save Wizard is only used to encrypt/decrypt the saves."
To quote from 2much4u on NGU: Note: The following is only for 1.76 PS4's, and because of that, is not able to be used online.
It has been tested and confirmed working on both the US and EU game regions. It is currently unknown if it will work on the JP region. It will only work on version 1.00 of Far Cry 4, which means there are no updates or dlc.
This was an interesting and fun experiment to try working on a different game than GTA V. Far Cry 4 is also a game that very little has been done for (modding wise) which makes the challenge all the more exciting. As I have previously stated, FC4 has a native system similar to GTA's.
However, it is not nearly in-depth and from my attempts to hook a few natives, I realized it may be left-over debug code. The natives related to drawing are all just empty functions and I was unable to get raw button input, which makes the menu base rather interesting.
It uses the mission objective box for drawing text so the menu base has to combine all the options, title, scroller, and credits to a single string. Without raw button input I was able to use the angle of the player's camera and the player's melee to control it. Because of this, the menu cannot be used in vehicles, safe zones, and other situations in which camera and weapon usage is limited.
I left print coordinates in there so people could request teleport locations that I may get around to adding someday. I'm looking forward to researching other mostly untouched games in the future and would recommend other developers wanting to test their skills do so as well.
It is not the most stable mod ever, so try not to get mad if the game crashes in the middle of a mission
We've seen PlayStation 4 hardware mod projects including UniversalFlash with a Glitch Pinout, a PSN Gamesharing Hardware Mod followed by a cheap Dump Programmer and recently video game console modder vyktormvmpay25 shared pictures of his first reballed PlayStation 4 console inviting developers interested in examining and comparing the PS4 dumps to contact him.
To quote: "This is my first PS4 reballed and I intend to make a few tests and if any developer interested to mod/modifications to dump just sent me an pm and will give this dump for experiments and test.
I have 5 blank eproms atm for it and interested to make many tests. ATM just finished my work with reball and will try to make this dump first. Don't own an controller ATM but will get it soon."
