PS4 Kernel Exploit (KEX) for 7.02 Firmware, Wait for Jailbreak Before Updating!
As promised last month, PlayStation 4 scene developer theflow0 just dropped the PS4 Kernel Exploit (KEX) for Firmware 7.02 and below which was patched by Sony in 7.50 PS4 OFW (Current OFW is 7.51) and can be chained together with a WebKit exploit like the previously released userland PS4 6.XX WebKit Exploit by Fire30_ that works up to 6.72 PS4 Firmware according to theflow0 with Mira support for 6.72 added as well! 😻
:alert: This means although today's PS4 kernel exploit works up to Firmware 7.02 there is currently only a PS4 userland exploit up to 6.72 publicly available!

Scene Dev @Al Azif suggests on Twitter that nobody should update until the full PS4 jailbreak is released, but for those who can't wait it's advisable...
CTurt on FreeDVDBoot for PS3 / PS4 and Blu-ray BD-J Attacks
Long ago we saw the Original PS4 Jailbreak for 1.76 FW via BadIRET Exploitation (Github Articles), and following his recent FreeDVDBoot PS2 DVD Player Exploit PlayStation 4 developer @CTurt shared via Twitter thoughts on FreeDVDBoot for PS3 / PS4 after discovering his FreeDVDBoot PREBUILT ISOs (GIT / Blog) also crash the PS4 in a video demonstration from V3dita BR on YouTube... meaning it may be vulnerable to the same bug, although he favors Blu-ray BD-J Attacks due to ASLR in later Firmware versions. 🤩

Previously we've seen PS4 BD-J (Blu-ray Java) Homebrew, some PS4 BD-J (Blu-ray Java) Homebrew Answers, Ukko's Journey Blu-Play Game, Loading PS4 Payloads via Blu-ray (Server-less Option) BD-J, The UFO Game! Blu-Play Game and a Blu-Play DOOM I Port / Homebrew Games with C /...
Bye PAYStation 4: PS4 Hacker TheFloW Vows PlayStation 4 Disclosure
Shortly after Sony's PlayStation Bug Bounty Program announcement that had many concerned their PlayStation 4 would become a PAYStation 4, PS4 scene hacker theflow0 reassured those holding out on updating their Firmware since his previous note that he's still going to disclose something in a few weeks/months with no specific ETA given. ⏳

 Perhaps he's waiting for $ony to give him permission to disclose it publicly (to comply with their terms) if it was the bug he submitted a few months ago in their program, or if not then maybe he wants to wait for the PS5's Holiday 2020 Launch... unfortunately a lack of transparency leaves the delay open to speculation only. o_O

In any case, it's great to see the PlayStation Bug Bounty Program program isn't dissuading all PS4 hackers from continuing to contribute to the scene even after getting paid... hopefully other developers will also follow making it a win for the entire community! 💞

In the Tweets below, theflow0 also confirmed a new webkit exploit chain for PS Vita called HENlo is incoming and can be used to jailbreak the device for those who still own a PlayStation Vita handheld console.

PS4 scene, you're starting such a drama over nothing. I was actually planning to disclose something in a few weeks/months (which I will still do...) and after that, I'd like to announce my retirement, even if I was never part of that toxic and entitled "scene."
The only scene I am part of is the Vita Scene, and I am really proud...
Sony Announces PlayStation Bug Bounty Program, PS4 Jailbreak ETA Never?
It's been just over 2 years since the last Full PS4 Jailbreak was publicly released, and as some PlayStation scene devs shared optimistic Tweets that if more homebrew is made they may work on a new jailbreak while others alluded that one may surface after the PS5 Release this Holiday 2020 with today's PlayStation Bug Bounty Program announcement by Sony offering rewards starting at $50,000.00 for critical PS4 vulnerabilities the proverbial PS4 Jailbreak question ETA WEN? may soon become ETA Never as $ony pays off hackers for disclosing new exploits to be patched. 🤑 😢

Following Microsoft's XBox Bounty Program launch, that could mean only those who already own or are still able to Locate a PS4 5.05 / 5.07 Jailbroken Console would be able to enjoy recent advancements in the PS4 homebrew scene including the OpenOrbis DevKit PS4 Library Ports, Mira Project PS4 Homebrew Tools and the OpenOrbis PS4 Toolchain with a reduced chance of seeing a Future PS4 Jailbreak Exploit being publicly released. :notworthy:

Of course not all scene hackers do it for financial reasons (such as monetary gain) so $ony's latest tactic may not sway their motives, there are some who may decide to profit while discreetly releasing their...
PS4HEN 2.1.4 Github Fork with Save Data Mounting & PS4 HEN VTX Ports
Following the PS4 HEN 2.1.3 updates, PlayStation 4 homebrew developer @TheDarkprograme shared a PS4HEN 2.1.4 Github fork (from SiSTR0's repository, also forked from xvortex) via Twitter that includes save data mount patches from ChendoChap who released both PS4 Cheater and PlayStation 4 Save Mounter previously with feedback from @Leeful in fixing reported issues for certain games. 🔥
